Brief introduction of Yangshuo West Street

West Street is an ancient slat paved street in the center of Yangshuo county. The buildings there smack of antiquity with strong local character. There are about hundred of thousands foreigners coming here for vacation, academic studies or cultural explorations every year.

Along the street, there are lines of arts and crafts stores, calligraph shops, hostels and pubs etc. Many foreigners settled their homes here and got married with the local girls. Some foreigners also have their shops or business here, so the street is also called foreigners' street. Also, as both the olders and youngers, the males and females could speak simple or good English, the West Street is also named as the "Global Village" and has become the focus of Chinese-foreign media. It attracts millions of tourists every year. There is a saying goes as if you didn't go to Yangshuo, you have not visited Guilin.

From evening on, the West Street becomes a totally different world. After touring during the day-time, the visitors now are sitting at the tables outside of the coffee shop or the food stores, eating and chatting far into the night...
