When you get to Guilin, which has always been honored with the best scenery in China since ancient times, how could you not enjoy the landscapes along the Li River like a long gallery? Li River Cruise will be a great choice for you. The 3-star Li River cruise is from Mopanshan Wharf in Guilin to Yangshuo. Along the route, the verdant hills, clear water, mist above the river, and beautiful reflections on the water seem to bring you to a fairyland. The scenery of villages on the banks will also make you feel at an idyllic land of peace.
The best scenery is at the 20-km lane from Yangdi to Xingping. The wonderful sights will attract your attention certainly, such as Mural Hill, Writing Brush Peak and Yellow Cloth Shoal, where the background pattern on the current version of the 20-yuan banknote of China was filmed.
The beauty of Li River lies in the reflections, and the most beautiful reflection is at Yellow Cloth Shoal. The river is clear and you can see a large beige slate at the riverbed, which is just like a yellow cloth. And the Yellow Cloth Shoal was named after the sight.
You can also see a marvelous hill on the bank of Li River like a relief of nine running horses. With the colorful and layered plants in the hill, it is like a vivid mural on the cliff. Hence the name Mural Hill.
