 The general information:

The Republic of Vanuatu is an independent democratic country, 1,300 miles northeast of Sydney, Australia. It is composed of about 80 islands in the Y-shape, of which 66 are inhabited. It is located in the southwest Pacific with an area of 12,190 square kilometers. English and French are the official languages.

It is typically the tropical marine climate, so it is thought as the paradise of diving. There is only one volcano that can be viewed from a not faraway place. The rich indigenous cultural and the alluring landscape invite tourists from all over the world, which also makes tourism the backbone of the economy. Generally speaking, the high travel season lasts from November to next April.

 Visa information:
Visa is not required for Chinese citizens at present. However, visa to destination is a must for Chinese exiting China. In the case when the Vanuatu is the only destination, and transit is needed in Australia and the transit visa issued by Australia is also a necessary, then applying for a visa in the embassy in China becomes required. After entry, Chinese citizens can stay there for one month. If extension is needed, it can be done in three times and one month one time.

 Useful tips:
It is a good way to connect the flight to Vanuatu via Australia. Alternatively, Hongkong, Japan and Fiji are optional. The inspection on animals and plants is quite strict. You'd better not take sealed packages of food before entering the country. Otherwise, declaration to customs must be done in advance to avoid the unnecessary trouble. Similar examination is carried out in Vanuatu.

 Dual nationality:
It doesn't recognize dual nationality. Foreigners living  there for consecutive ten years are eligible to apply to get the nationality. Babies born in there are taken for granted of foreign nationalities provided that the parents are both of foreign nationalities. If one parent is Vanuatuan, it is free for him to choose the nationality.

Please contact China Embassy in Vanuatu if this country's citizens will go to China.

Do Vanuatu citizens transiting in China for 5 hours need a visa?
Our representative for Vanuatu civil society Ms. Jeanette Harrison Raupepe is traveling to Seoul, South Korea and will be transiting in Shanghai, China for 4 and a half hours on the 16/05/14. Please advise if she needs a visit.

As I write this email, Ms. Jeanette Harrison Raupepe is transiting in Auckland, New Zealand and will be boarding again shortly for Shanghai, China. Where she will be in transit for 4 and a half hours before boarding again for Seoul, South Korea.

Ms. Jeanette Harrison Raupepe is attending the 2014 International Peace Summit to be held in Seoul, South Korea from the 17th to the 19th September, 2014.

Vango, she needn't apply in advance because she can enjoy 24 hours free transit in China if she has onward air ticket and her valid passport.

Requesting for assistance
Dear Sir/Madam,

Am a ni-Vanuatu residing in Europe. Am requesting assistance for the renewal of my passport.

I would very much appreciate a response at your earliest convenience if its part of your mandate/possible to have it processed in our embassy in China instead of sending it back. Could you also please provide a list of all necessary documentation or such (alongside the passport) that you would require to have it done.

Thank you for you help
Willie Minit.

Do you mean to apply passport renewal in China from your embassy? but I am thinking you are not allowed to do this if you are not residing in China now.
