Forbidden City, Beiing
Photo by our client Ms. Gillian
Your private family tour starts from the Tiananmen Square, the largest city center square in China. Located in the heart of Beijing, it is also the site for the regular morning flag raising ceremony. Next will be the Forbidden City, a well-preserved imperial palace complex that used to be the living palace of 24 ancient emperors. Its history can be traced back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911) and we will spend about 2 hours here.

A la carte lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be at a popular local restaurant where authentic Chinese foods can be found. We will make our way to the Temple of Heaven after lunch. Emperors used to pray there for good harvest during ancient times. There is an interesting echoing wall inside the temple and visitors must try it.

Meals: Western buffet breakfast, A la carte lunch
Day 3 Beijing
Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird's Nest (drive by), Summer Palace. (B)
Mr. Stegman's family visiting the Great Wall
Travelling in Beijing wouldn't be complete without visiting the Great Wall. You will visit the Mutianyu section of the wall as there are fewer visitors, hence a better view. Hiking up the wall is a great challenge but it sure will be a memorable experience of a lifetime. To make the hiking easier, we have included the round-trip cable car ride for you. Take a leisurely stroll once you reach the top and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. As good restaurants are hard to come by near the Great Wall, you are advised to take a hearty breakfast and bring some snacks with you.

We will return to downtown Beijing after that, passing by the Bird's Nest (National Stadium) on the way. We will make a quick photo stop so that you will remember the awesome view of the stadium. We will then proceed to the Summer Palace, one of the best-preserved imperial gardens. Go boating and enjoy the beauty of Kunming Lake.

Meals: Western buffet breakfast
Day 4 Beijing - Xian
Pandas in Beijing Zoo, Hutong alleys. A high speed train to Xian. Railway station to hotel transfer. (B)
Our travel consultant with her clients
Visit Beijing Zoo this morning. Visitors will have the chance to see the Giant Panda. They are very active while having their breakfast and you will be easily amused by their antics. In the afternoon, you will take a high-speed train to the ancient city of Xian. You will be met at the railway station and transferred to the hotel by our guide there.

Meals: Western buffet breakfast
Day 5 Xian
Terracotta Army Museum, Xian Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. (B)
A family group riding bicycle on Xian ancient City Wall
The highlight of Xian tour is none other than the Terra Cotta Warriors. Observing the soldiers' facial expressions carefully, you will find each one's subtle differences. There are also weapons, horses and bronze carriages, which enable visitors to learn a little about the military history of China. Then we will stroll to the nearby pottery workshop, where you can view the process of pottery making. Try your hands on making one.

Lunch today will be on your own but you may consult our guide on where to eat. Afterwards, you will proceed to the Xian Museum and then visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist tower that survived from the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907).

Meals: Western buffet breakfast

A lot of souvenir shops are scattered around, which is great for gift hunting.

We will have lunch with a local family (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price). The hostess happens to be good at cooking traditional Chinese food, and you can learn some dishes from her. Later in the afternoon, our guide will see you off at the airport for your onward flight to Guilin. Our Guilin guide will be there to escort you to the hotel.

Our clients on Li River Cruise, Guilin
The best way to see Guilin's landscape is to take a cruise along the Li River. You can closely embrace the stunning scenery along the banks of the river. We will visit a local family at Yangshuo to experience the idyllic lifestyles of the countryside. The rest of the day is free for you to explore further. You may like to visit the famous West Street where there are many Chinese and Western restaurants to choose for your dinner.

Tips: Since the simple Chinese box lunch served on the cruise today is less satisfactory, it is advisable that you have a hearty breakfast at the hotel in the morning.

Take Airport Express Train to Dongzhimen and change to subway line 2 to Chongwenmen. Then you need to take line 5 to Ciqikou. Leave from exit G and you can walk east for no more than 10min to get there.

Alternatively, you can take airport shuttle bus line 7 to Guangqumen Inner. Then your destination is about 5min walking distance.

What is the best and fast way from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Huizhou West Lake Area?
We will arrive at Guangzhou South Railway Station in the evening around 18:00 and then go to Huizhou West Lake Area. What is the best, fast and safe way? I searched it on line and it shows to take subway line #2 from South Railway Station and transfer line #1 to East Railway Station. Take train to Huizhou Railway Station and then take subway 209 (13/ 5/ 41 ) to West Lake area. Does the train available from Guangzhou East Railway Station to Huizhou Railway Station in the late evening? Can we buy the tickets when we get there? Please advise.

Thank you

As I know, you are suggested to take a bullet train from Guangzhou South to Huizhou South, which leaves at 20:36 and take about 1 hour, CNY130 for a first class seat and CNY94.5 for a second one. But I’m afraid the tickets may be sold out when you arrive, so you are suggested to book the ticket in advance.
By the way, I was told TravelChinaGuide provides the booking service, you may connect them through bookingtravelchinaguide.com
After arrival, you can take a taxi there, which may take CNY140-150 and 1 hour.

Hi, there! You should not miss the nearby Baiyun Mountain. Since your hotel is not far from the Guangzhou East Railway Station Metro Station, you can have easy access to some major attractions of the city, such as the Pearl River, Shamian Island, Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family, and the Canton Tower, which are all near the metro stations.
