Near the Jokhang Temple and along the Tibetan Hospital Road, there are a lot of nice and comfortable restaurants. Some of them serve western food, Nepalese and Indian food. Snowland Restaurant, Lhasa Kitchen, Naga French Restaurant and Tashi Restraurant are recommended. On the southeastern corner of Barkhor Street, there is a well-known Tibetan restaurant for backpackers. Sitting at the second floor gives you an amazing view escpecially at sunset by covering the part of Barkhor Street. Most restaurant sell Yak meat which is a must try in Tibet.

To show the respect to Buddha, here are some don't you need to know:

1. Don't walk around the stupas and other sacred objects in a clock-wise direction

2. Don't climb on statues, mani stones or other sacred objects

3. Don't wear hat inside the Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace etc... No short pants or tank tops. It is a acquiescent custom to leave a small money offering when you visit the shrines.

4. Photography is NOt allowed inside the Potala Palace. Some other monasteries allow photography upon payment of a certain fee. Anyway, ask before you turn on your camera.
