Day 01: Arrival in Urumqi
Arrive in Urumqi and get prepared. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 02: Urumqi - Altay
Take a flight from Urumqi to Altay. Drive to a Mongolian village in the Altay Mountains. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 03: Altay - Lake Hanas
Explore the Mongolian village. Drive to Lake Hanas. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 04: Lake Hanas - Hanas Glacier
Take boat to the head of Lake Hanas; start trekking to the Hanas Glacier and the Friendship Peak. Stay overnight at the local hotel or in the camp.

 
Day 05: Hanas Glacier
Trek in Siberian forests to the Hanas Glacier. Stay overnight in the camp.

 
Day 06: Hanas Glacier
Explore hinterland of the Hanas Glacier. Stay overnight in the camp.

 
Day 07: Hanas Glacier - Lake Hanas
Trek to Lake Hanas. En route, enjoy the natural beauties. Stay overnight in the camp.

 
Day 08: Lake Hanas - Hanas Village
Continue to trek to Lake Hanas, and take boat to Hanas Village. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 09: Hanas Village - Tuvu Village - Kazakh summer camp
Trek to visit Tuvu Village. Then drive to a Kazakh summer camp to stay overnight.

 
Day 10: Kazakh summer camp - Altay
Drive back through the Hanas River valley to Altay. Visit Bronze Age stone carvings.

 
Day 11: Altay
Visit cultural sites, including Mosques in Altay. Take an afternoon flight to Urumqi.

 
Day 12: Departure from Urumqi
Leave Urumqi according to your schedule.

 Day by Day Itinerary

Departure: Daily 
 
Day 01: Arrival in Urumqi
Arrive in Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region. Get prepared and stay overnight at a local hotel.

 
Day 02: Urumqi - Korla
Drive from Urumqi to Korla. En route, visit the Bosten Lake. Stay overnight at a local hotel.

 
Day 03: Korla - Mingfeng
Drive from Korla to Mingfeng, crossing the Taklimakan Desert from north to south on the longest desert highway in the world.

 
Day 04: Mingfeng -Yutian - Keliya River
Drive to Yutian, and then turn north to drive along the Keliya River into the desert. On the way, visit the local ethnic groups, and enjoy the scenery of the poplar forest along the river. Stay in the camp at night.

 
Day 05: Keliya River - Daheyan
Continue drive north along the Keliya River to the Daheyan Village. Stay in the camp at night.

 
Day 06 - Day 12: Daheyan - Taklimakan Desert - Mt. Maztag
Using 7 days, trekking 88 km in the center of Taklimakan Desert from east to west, to Maztag Mountain (1246 m high) by the side of Hetan River, and climb to the top of Mt. Maztag to enjoy the magnificent view of the desert, the river, and the sunset. In the evening, have a bonfire party to celebrate the success of the trekking. (Note: Each day, trek about 20 km in about 6 hours). Stay in the camp at night.

 
Day 13 - Day 14: Mt. Maztag - Aksu
Drive north for 2 days along the Hetan River from Maztag to Aksu at the north side of the desert. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 15: Aksu - Kucha
Drive from Aksu to Kucha, visit the Kezil Thousand Buddha Cave, and the Kucha Grand Temple. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 16: Kucha - Turpan
Drive from Kucha to Turpan. Stay overnight at the local hotel.

 
Day 17: Turpan
Have a city tour in Turpan, including the Karez underground irrigation system, the Jiaohe Ruined Town, Sugong Tower, Flaming Hill and the Grape Valley.

 
Day 18: Turpan - Urumqi
In the morning, visit the Beziklik Thousand Buddha Cave, the Astana Tomb, and the Gaochang Ruined Town. Then drive back to Urumqi. On the way, visit the wind power station. 

 
Day 19: Departure from Urumqi
After visit the Erdaoqiao Bazaar in Urumqi, leave Urumqi according to you schedule.
