13 Days of Baoshan - Liuku - Gongshan - Dimaluo - Biluo Snow Mountain - Cizong - Deqin - Feilai Temple - Xidang Village - Upper Yubeng Village - Lower Yubeng Village - Sacred Waterfall - Lower Yubeng Village - Upper Yubeng Village - Base Camp - Ice Lake - Upper Yubeng Village - Minyong Village - Deqin - Zhongdian - Kunming

On the first day, take coach from Kunming Bus Station which is at the south end of Beijing Road and near to the Nanyao railway station to Baoshan. The distance from Kunming to Baoshan is 571km and the driving takes about 7 hours. Stay at a local hotel.

On the second day, take coach from Baoshan to Liuku. The distance is 146km and the driving takes about 3 hours. After lunch in Liuku, take coach from Liuku Bus Station which is on the East Xiangyang Road to Gongshan. There is 200km from Liuku to Gongshan and 4 coaches run between the two places everyday. Stay overnight in the Green Mountain Guest House (Tel: 0886-3511436).

On the third day, trek for 28km from Gongshan to Dimaluo. It takes one day for trekking. In this route, you will almost trek in the forest. Stay in a local villager's house.

On the fourth day, start trekking up the Biluo Snow Mountain (4652 meters high) which is between the Nu River and the Mekong River. You will pass the Baihanluo Village and a Catholic Church. Camping or stay in a local villager's house. Climb over the highest peak, Balagong Pass on the Baihanluo Mountain (3900 meters high). Camp at the Balagong ranch. The trekking time today is about 9 hours.

On the fifth day, climb down to the bottom of the valley, and then climb up to cross the Shelalaka peak (4300 meters high) of Biluo Snow Mountain. Climb down the mountain to reach the Diwazhaduo Ranch which altitude is 3500m. Stay overnight in the camp. It takes about 8 hours for the trekking today.

On the sixth day, climb down the mountain. Around the noon time, climb up the last section of ascent and get to the Zhanala Mountain. Climb down the mountain and reach the Cizhong Village by the side of Mekong River. The trekking time today is about 5 hours. Stay overnight in the village.

On the seventh day, view the sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain. Take a coach to Deqin which is 80km away from Cizhong Village. Then go to visit the Feilai Temple which is 10km away from Deqin. Stay overnight at Meili Shanzhuang which is a guest house at the temple.

On the eighth day, take bus for 1.5 hours from the temple to Xidang hotspring. Start the trekking for about 5 to 6 hours via Nazongla Pass to reach the Upper Yubeng Village. Continue to walk for about half an hour to reach the Lower Yubeng Village and stay overnight.

On the ninth day, visit the Sacred Waterfall. It is a mountain road of about 8km from the Lower Yubeng Village to the waterfall. You need to trek for about 5 hours for the round way. After you get back to the Lower Yubeng Village, walk for about half an hour on the country road of 2km to the Upper Yubeng Village and stay overnight.

On the tenth day, walk for about 2 hours to the Base Camp, then walk for 1.5 hours to visit the Ice Lake. Continue to trek for 3.5 hours to be back to the Upper Yubeng Village. And then trek for 4 hours to arrive at Xidang Village via Nazongla Pass. Take a bus to Mingyong Village and stay overnight.

On the eleventh day, trek from Mingyong Village to Mingyong Glacier. Visit the Prince Temple and the Lotus Temple Return to Mingyong Village. The trekking takes about 5 hours. Take bus to Deqin and stay overnight.

On the twelfth day, from Deqin Bus Station (Add: Nanping Street, Deqin County), take a coach for about 6 hours to Shangri-la and stay overnight.

On the thirteenth day, fly back to Kunming from Shangri-la.
