Visa

23 countries and territories' tourists are endowed with visa-free travel to this country. Tourists from Belarus, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macao Serbia, Ukraine and United States can stay in Mongolia without a visa for 90 days; Canada, Cuba, Germany, Israel, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand no more than 30 days; Philippines no more than 21 days; and Hong Kong no more than 14 days. If you are not from the above countries, you should transact your visa in advance.

Money Issues

1. Consumption level: If you travel with a tour group, the budget is about $100 per day. If you travel by yourself and live in a moderate hotel, your budget can be reduced to $80 per day. If you travel by charter vehicles with someone else and you are camped out in tents, you can reduce your daily budget to $25-40 a day. In Ulaanbaatar, regular accommodation plus a day's meals may cost $10-20.

2. Currency Exchange: The local currency is Tugrik. 1$≈2,400T. There are lots of banks and exchange outlets in Ulaanbaatar, so you can exchange money conveniently.

3. ATMs: ATMs are mainly located in the outlets of Khan Bank, Golomt Bank, Trade and Development Bank, Saving Bank, Capital Bank and Ulaanbaatar City Bank, department stores, and hotels.

4. Credit cards: They are widely accepted in Mongolia, but you should pay attention to the safety of using cards to prevent fraudulent use.

5. Tips: Tipping is not popular in Mongolia, but visitors can give tips to hotel attendants and porters to show appreciation for their excellent service.
