How is your visa approved?

Visa policies differ for every country. For the travel visa, an application needs to be made to the immigration authority office requesting your intention to visit that country. However, if the destination country does not have a consulate in your home country, then the request needs to be made in the embassy of another country which has the authority to issue a travel visa that you are planning to visit.

When a travel visa is issued, a sticker or a stamp is placed on the passport page.

Visa Registration

The criterion for the visa is dependent on the period of stay, the designated type of visa, the amount of previous entries to the country and the type of the visa. Any visa less than a period of 90 days falls under the temporary visa category.

It should be understood that the period of stay for entry visa, it could be single or double entries up to 30 days. In case that multiple entries for temporary traveler’s visa is valid for 30 days and single and double entries on transit visa is valid for 10 days. Which means that the entry visa is valid for 90 days with 30 days of stay allowed for temporary visitors.

Foreign nationals who plan to stay beyond 30 days should inform within 7 official days to the Immigration Agency of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar by registering at the designated local office. A regular 30-day visa is issued and can be extended on request from the immigration office. Extension needs to be applied when not less than 4 days remain for the visa to expire.
