The present Nanhai District is one of the cradles of Yue Embroidery which is among the four famous styles of embroidery in China. Nanhai Embroidery began to be well-known nationwide in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The embroidery can be seen as the ambassador of the local folk arts.

This is a street that brings together almost all the famous shops and articles of the city. It is an essential item in visitors' tourist schedules.
