When is the Best Time to Visit Finland?

Most of Finland has a marine climate. Due to the influence of the North Atlantic warm current, the climate of Finland is much milder than other regions of the same latitude, such as Siberia and Greenland. The travel high season is from June to August with an average temperature of 18℃(64℉). During this period, the illumination time is very long, even in the southern coastal areas, the sky will never be completely dark in summer. In the northern Lapland area, the sun will stay high for nearly two months. That’s the reason why people choose this destination for a Finland vacation.

Winter is long and cold. The snowfall season in the North lasts more than 6 months from October to the mid May, so Finland attracts many winter sports fans. In northern Lapland, there will be polar nights in December and January, which is the perfect time to enjoy the magnificent aurora borealis.
