Day 1 Airport Pick-up in Nairobi, Drive to Tsavo West National Park
As soon as you arrive, our professional local driver guide will pick you up at the airport and drive for 5 hours to Tsavo West National Park, which is around 250 kilometers (155 miles) southwest of the airport. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge and have a good rest to prepare for the coming safari of your best Kenya tours.

Kenya Tour Tips:
1. Yellow Fever Vaccination: All travelers are advised to get vaccinated as there is a risk of transmission in Kenya. If you depart from endemic countries or then intend to visit countries like Tanzania, South Africa, and China, please obtain the vaccination certification because you need to present it when entering.
2. Single-use Plastic Bag Ban: Disposable plastic bags such as flat bags and duty-free shop bags are not allowed to be used in Kenya, or you may be fined. Plastic suitcases and ziplock bags are ok to use.
3. Currency & Tips: US dollars (USD) issued after 2013 and Kenya Shillings (KSh) are both accepted in Kenya. We recommend you prepare some small denominations of USD and exchange some KSh at banks before departure or at the airport after landing. The rate is usually better at the bank. To express your appreciation for the guide’s services, consider offering a tip of KSh 1,000-2,000 (USD 8-16) per person per day. Paying in KSh is generally more cost-effective.

Day 2 Full-day Game Drive in Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo National Park is the largest wildlife reserve in Kenya, consisting of Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Today, we will take a morning and an afternoon game drives to explore the western part. This open savanna is home to diverse species of wild animals, such as large herds of elephants, elands, buffalo, and Masai giraffes. Besides wildlife, the park is scattered with springs, among which Mzima Springs is the most famous. You will follow our guide to hike along the path around the spring and head to its underwater viewing room, where you can admire crocodiles and various fish through its windows. Nourished by the ponds, the savanna has formed wetlands with lush palm trees, which provide habitats for hippos and birds. In addition, we will visit the Rhino Sanctuary inside. Home to 80 black rhinos, it offers you more chances to spot these shy animals than other parks. However, it still needs some luck to encounter them, as they are nocturnal and always hide in the lush bushes during the day. After enjoying the stunning sunset, we will return to the camp for dinner.

★ Our Strength: 4×4 Pop-up Roof Land Cruiser
The private land cruiser we provide you offers an elevated vantage for admiring animals and landscapes with a pop-up hatch. In addition, its fully enclosed body with openable windows is dustproof and ventilated. Compared to the minivans by some other operators, it is more spacious and comfortable. Besides, with bigger and upgraded wheels, it is ideal for complex terrains on savannas.

Day 3 Drive to Amboseli National Park, Enjoy an Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, we will drive 150 kilometers (93.2 miles) to Amboseli National Park, which takes 3 hours or so. Upon arrival, we will take an afternoon game drive after lunch. Known as the ‘elephant paradise’, Amboseli is home to more than 1,000 of these giants with big tusks. During the game drive, you can encounter breathtaking scenes of herds of elephants standing against a backdrop of the snow-peaked Mount Kilimanjaro. Other wildlife, including buffalo, giraffes, and zebras, live a carefree life here as there are few predators. You can easily see them on the flat grassland without any obstruction of high vegetation. As the sun goes down, feast your eyes on the golden-hued savanna with acacia trees and animals roaming beneath. At the end of today, we will return to the lodge for dinner.

Travel Tips for African Safari:
1. For your safety, please avoid leaning out of the window or groveling on the top of the car when admiring animals or taking photos, as the wildlife is far from tame.
2. We suggest you bring Dramamine if you have carsickness because you will spend most of your time in the car, and the roads on the savanna is not flat. In addition, it is advised to wear a mask, as it may be dusty when admiring animals with car windows open. You can also pack some insect repellents to protect against mosquitos.

Day 4 Full-day Exploration in Amboseli National Park
Today, we will enjoy a whole day game drive in Amboseli National Park, which is the best place to appreciate Mt. Kilimanjaro on the equator. Although the mountain is located in Tanzania, most of the incredible photos of this Roof of Africa are taken from Amboseli. However, whether you can see this majestic mountain depends a lot on the weather. Its snow peak can be seen on sunny days, while it may be obscured if it is cloudy or rainy. The melting snow of Kilimanjaro forms green swamplands which attract various animals and birds. If lucky, you will witness raptors such as African harrier hawks and Nubian vultures hunting.

Day 5 Drive to Lake Nakuru, Birdwatching Game Drive
After breakfast, we will drive for 5-6 hours to Lake Nakuru National Park, the top birds' sanctuary in Africa, around 350 kilometers (217.5 miles) away from Amboseli. Most visitors came here to admire pink flamingos. However, as the water salinity decreased, it could not provide enough food to these birds. So, most of them migrate to Lake Bogoria, which makes it difficult to see the majestic scenes of flocks of flamingos flying across the lake. However, other bird species, such as long-tailed widow birds and ostriches, are worth admiring. In addition, it is one of the best places in Kenya to spot endangered white and black rhinos and Rothschild's giraffes. Afterward, we will return to the lodge and enjoy dinner.
► Note: If you are a fanatic of flamingos, Lake Bogoria is a better choice, which is home to millions of these pink birds. If you want to tailor this stop to Lake Bogoria, please contact our consultant ahead of time so that we can better rearrange your itinerary.

Day 6 Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, Enjoy an Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, we will pack some food for lunch and head to Masai Mara National Reserve, which is no doubt one of Kenya's world-famous wildlife reserves. After driving for around 5 hours, we will arrive and check into the camp. After a short break, let’s start our first game drive in Masai Mara.

★ Witness Epic Journey of Millions of Wildebeests Crossing the Mara River
Together with Serengeti in Tanzania, Masai Mara provides a vast grassland for millions of herbivores. From June to September, the army of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes migrating from Serengeti cross the Mara River to Masai Mara to find new grasslands. The river crossing of millions of wildebeests is the most spectacular event of the migration. These warriors dash into the water that is full of crocodiles and struggle to survive the rushing river and the mouths of the ‘Mara killers’. Some wildebeests will successfully reach the opposite bank, while some may die because of predation or exhaustion.
► Note: No one knows the exact time of wildebeests crossing the river, as nature is its own boss. But guides of Masai Mara will share the information about the crossing with each other, and our experienced driver will escort you to the spot immediately, which will increase your chance to see the majestic scenes.

Day 7 Full-day Game Dive in Masai Mara National Reserve
Today will be an all-day Masai Mara safari to admire a variety of wildlife. Our guide will escort you to track the African Big Five. As the shooting location of the documentary African Cats, Masai Mara has a thriving population of cheetahs. If lucky, you can see these agile hunters hopping onto the trees or lurking behind the scrub finding herbivores to prey. In addition, you will have a chance to admire lions roaming on the grassland or napping in the shade of bushes. Boxed food will be served for lunch today. We will go back to the camp to have dinner and rest at sunset.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Ashnil Mara Camp (4 stars)
Day 8 Drive Back to Nairobi, See off at the Airport
Before the end of the trip, we can have one more game drive in the early morning. After that, buckle up for a 5-hour ride back to the Nairobi International Airport. Our driver guide will see you off at the airport, and your best private Kenya tour will end here.

If you want to capture more scenes of the Great Migration, Tanzania is a good choice. It is much vaster, and the animal migration proceeds longer than in Masai Mara. Feel free to contact our travel consultant for more details if you are interested in Tanzania tours.
