We Are the First and Only China Tour Operator Who Provides No Shopping Tours!
In tourism market, the commission-based shopping stop has become an unspoken rule in arranging tours. Over 90% of the China tour operators worldwide include shopping stops in their tours in a hidden or exposed manner. Whereas, we, TravelChinaGuide, are the first and only one to break the scammed rules! All our tours are no shopping and only pure sightseeing experiences, but still competitively priced and even lower than most tours.

Taking a shopping tour is not only a waste of time, but a waste of money on those overpriced goods. Usually one or two shopping stops will be arranged each day, and visitors are required to stay at least one hour, then the tour company can get about US$30 kickback per head. China's Instant Tax Refund policy implemented since 2025 aims to directly benefit international tourists by making 'Made in China' goods more affordable. However, for any items bought from these kinds of commission-based shopping stores, the tax savings don't reach your pocket, because such stores won't handle the tax refunds for you - all the money goes to tour companies as high kickbacks.

Do ask the tour operator directly if there are any shopping stops before booking. Most of the competitors do not have any shopping related words in itineraries, but they do have shopping while on the tour. The so called jade factory, tea ceremony and many others are all tricks. They will waste your valuable sightseeing time. Our shopping-free tour can always assure you a trip beyond expectations!

  10:00 Visit Terracotta Army Museum
New Exhibition of the Terracotta Army Museum
We will reserve the tickets for you in advance to ensure a quick entry and avoid the hassle of queuing up at the ticket counter. Accompanied by the guide, you would enjoy 2.5 to 3 hours delving into the museum, including three main excavated pits and the newly-opened exhibition.

Standing in front of the most spectacular and largest Pit No. 1, over 6,000 life-sized terracotta figures lined up in formation seem to instantly transport you back to a battlefield of the Qin Dynasty (221 - 207 BC). Each of them is still vivid with a distinct appearance, with even the hair and armor lines clearly visible, which makes the Terracotta Army worthy of the title of ‘the Eighth Wonder of the World’. Pit No. 2, regarded as the essence of the three pits, will present you with more complete branches of the military, such as crossbowman phalanx, as well as the mixed formation of infantries, cavalries, and chariots. Besides, some of the bronze weapons unearthed here remain as sharp as new to this day, and the corrosion-resistant technology applied on them is said to be far superior to that of the same era. The scene of the warriors holding sacrificed weapons and horses surrounding the chariots in the Pit. No. 3, which has been speculated by archaeologists to be the commanding center, will inspire your boundless imagination.

What’s more, follow your guide into the new exhibition hall, where 230 treasures that have never been publicly displayed will leave you speechless in amazement. Among them, a headless armored figurine with striking purple arms may particularly catch your attention. The ‘Chinese Purple’ was an artificially synthesized pigment that is very difficult to extract even today and it is said that it might have been accidentally made by Qin craftsmen while firing colored glaze, which undoubtedly indicates the advanced craftsmanship and aesthetic sense at that time.
  13:00 Free Time for Lunch
Lunch is not included, but you'll have some options just outside the museum, and your guide will be pleased to offer suggestions and assistance. Fast food chains and local eateries here offer adequate and hygienic food, which costs around USD 7 per person. Alternatively, you can bring some snacks to replenish energy, and then enjoy a more substantial meal when returning to the downtown area.
