We need to get from Xi'an to Jiuzhaigou in early november. Is it possible to get a train from Xi'an to Guangyuan and then a bus to Jiuzhaigou? Is that a good way?

Yes, there are train from Xi'an to Guangyuan. But, there is only one or a few buses to Jiuzhaigou from Guangyuan, so it is suggested that you transfer at Chengdu and the road situation between these places is much better than from Guangyuan.
