When is the Best Time to Visit El Salvador?

November to next April is the best time to visit El Salvador. It is the dry season there and travelers could visit the volcanos and national parks easily with less rainfall and cool temperature. However, if you come to El Salvador for surfing on the beach, such as El Tunco, El Zonte and El Tunco, you should avoid this period. You could choose to visit from May to October for it is the wet season with high waves on the beach.

Is Visa Required for El Salvador Tours?

• Foreign nationals from 86 countries and territories are allowed to enter El Salvador without a visa. The main countries are the Schengen countries, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Mexico and the United States.

• According to the Central America - 4 Border Control Agreement signed by El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, travelers holding a visa to any of the four, can enter the other three without a visa.

• Besides the visa, all the travelers need to obtain a Tourist Card with US10.00 per person upon arrival at the airport, seaport or land board crossing. The validity of the Tourist Card is 30 days.
