Xian Transportation -- By Tour Special Bus

In Xian City, 11 tour special lines are opened, supplying convenient transportation for local residents and travelers. Most of the tour destinations in the urban area, such as the Bell Tower, the Shaanxi History Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, are easily linked by the tour lines. On the other hand, the transportation to those destinations located in the suburb, such as the Mt. Huashan and the Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, can be totally dependant on the reliable city-buses.

Usually, these buses can be easily recognized by their numbers which are marked with the character '游' (You). Generally, the 11 tour buses can be divided into two categories:
You 1, You 2, You 3, You 4, You 5 and You 9 — these buses run between the downtown area and the famous attractions around Xian City. Except the You 9, all of them can be taken from the East Square of Xian Railway Station.
You 6, You 7, You 8, You 10 and You 10(A) — these five lines mainly serve the urban area of Xian City. With the help of these, the numerous tour destinations are linked together methodically.

Mr.cathy(cn) replied:

The ideal way from Guangzhou to Xian is taking flights (2.5 hours), coz the train travel will need more than 25 hours.

Xian to Lhasa you'd better also take a flight (3 hours) , the train needs 35 hours.

3 or 4 days in Xian is ok if you rely on the public transport.
