6 Days of Kunming - Yiliang - Chaishitan Rock Patch - Yiliang - Xiaoshao Village - Shilin Town - Long Lake - Kunming

Scenic Yiliang County

On your first day, take a coach to Yiliang County at Dongju Passenger Station. The bus departs every 20 minutes:the fare is CNY10-15 per person. Change to the minibus to  Chaishitan Rock Patch after one hour journey on the bus. Bus fare is CNY5-7. Upon arrival at Chaishitan, have your lunch in the scenic area. The admission fee is CNY20. Start to hike. Rafting is recommended in the afternoon. Rafting including insurance costs CNY80-100. Please pay attention to safety while rafting. Stay overnight in the scenic area.

On the morning of your second day, visit Chaishitan Dam, the highest dam in Yunnan Province. You may ride a speed boat to explore the reservoir area. Finsh your sightseeing in Chaishitan Rock Patch, go back to Yiliang County and have lunch here. Walk to Wanjia Garden in Wanjiaao Village located only 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) south of the county seat. Covering an area of 130 acres, this garden is the base for floriculture in Kunming. Stay overnight in Yiliang County.

Xiaoshao Village

On the third day, take a minibus to Xiaoshao Village， about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) north of Yiliang County. Bus fare is CNY3-5. Upon arrival at the village, go to Xiaoshao Village Visitor's Center. It is a nice experience to taste the mushrooms here. After a short break, hike to Sun Valley, where a stream stretches over 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Walking along the road at the bottom of the valley, you will not only experience an exciting adventure, but also have natural beauty in full view. It takes 4-5 hours to hike in the valley. You may choose to find an open area in which to camp or you may accommodate yourself in the village. There are seven dwellings there and the lodging fee is CNY15.

Ethnic minority in Azhuodi Village

On the morning of the fourth day, stroll to DadieshuI Waterfall and Shiban River. The admission fee for Dadieshui Waterfall is CNY20. After visiting the Waterfall, go to the Dieshui hydropower station 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) away. Take a minibus to Shilin Town for CNY5. Stay overnight in the town.

Take a minibus from Shilin Town to Azhuodi Village on the fifth day for CNY5-7. Upon arrival at Azhuodi Village, arrange your accommodation. The local accommodations are not very good and only standard twin rooms are available. The hostel rate is CNY30-60 per room with no TV or private bathroom. In the afternoon, you could stroll around the village. The forests of apple and persimmon trees might interest you. Climbing the little hummock will also be fun.

On the sixth day, walk to the Long Lake Scenic Area about 5 kilometers (3 miles) away. The entrance ticket price is CNY10. Bring your own food and have a picnic there. Go back to Shilin Town and transfer back to Kunming City in the afternoon.
