The flat and soft beach is regarded as “the greatest beach in China” because of the fine and white sand, soft waves, clean seawater and safe environment without sharks.

Bath in the Sea

Silver Beach Beihai China is the ideal bathing beach and holiday resort. The beach itself is large enough to accommodate 10,000 people swimming at the same time. The water here has a strong ability for self - purification. Standing on the seaside, you can even see the scenery 2 meters (6.6 feet) underwater. Swimming here is also very safe because slow rising tide and absence of dangerous sea creatures. Luggage storage and shower facilities are available here for swimmers’ convenience, costing CNY10/cabinet and CNY15/person respectively.

Enjoy Sunshine and Play Sand

In Beihai Silver Beach, you can lounge on the beach chairs and enjoy the tropical sunshine, or frolic on the fine sand of the beautiful snow-white beach. Rental beach umbrella and beach chair is CNY100/ day.

Enjoy Marine and Beach Sports

Even more exciting activities to do on the beach are experiencing the thrill of parasailing and motorboats, as well as fun beach sports like beach volleyball and beach soccer. Besides that, there is a Silver Beach Park with lots of amusement projects like bumper boats and go-karts. Kart on the beach costs CNY 50-80/ ten minutes. The shuttle bus is CNY10/ person/day.
 

What to See on Silver Beach Beihai Resort

On the beach is the largest musical sculpture fountain in Asia and is worth visiting. The ball-shaped sculpture is 23 meters (76 feet) high and 20 meters (66 feet) in diameter. This huge stainless steel sculpture symbolizes a great pearl guarded by 7 naked girls. Consisting of 5,250 nozzles and 3,000 colorful lamps, the fountain gushes out from water pillars at different angles and directions. There are 4 fountain shows every night and every show is 15 minutes long.

Besides that, there is an ecological square built not far from the beach. With unique architectural modeling, this square encompasses over 30 pavilions and houses. In this square, you can view the Coconut Grove and rare birds’ performance, Vietnam and Russia’s customs show and parasailing performances.

Tips:
1. Take the swimming wear, rings and goggles yourself.
2. Do not swim to the deep water area or the zones without lifeguards.
3. Go on shore immediately when the tide rises.
4. Apply sunscreen generously when exposed to the sun.
 

How to get to Beihai Silver Beach

City Bus: take bus no.3 /17 at Beibu Bay Square Station and get off at Silver Beach Station.
Tourism Special-Line Bus: get on at Beibu Bay Square Station and get off at Silver Beach Station. The operate time is 15:00-19:00. The ticket is CNY 2/ person.
Taxi: hailing a taxi from downtown area of Beihai City go there costs about CNY 20.

You can visit Beibu Gulf Square, Silver Beach, Underwater World, Weizhou Island and Xingdao Lake. And human and cultural scenic spots like Wenchang Pagoda and Dongpo Pavilion.

Oh, it is cold in water in Feb. so it is best not to swim then.

My wife and I will be in China from the middle of October to the third week in November and we are wanting to spend at least one week at a place where we will have access to a nice beach where I can swim in the ocean safely. Any suggestions?

Sanya (Hainan island), take a good hotel on beach in Yalong Bay (Hilton is a good choice around USD 200/night).
