Shenyang Metro Line 2

Shenyang Metro Line 2, about 47 kilometers (29 miles) long with 33 stations, runs in a north-south direction and passes by Shenyang North Railway Station and Taoxian Airport. It also connects attractions such as Liaoning Provincial Museum, Beiling Park, Central Park, as well as some local night markets.

 It is under the south square of Shenyang North Railway Station and shared by Shenyang Metro Line 2 and Line 4. After arriving by high speed train, follow the "Metro" or "South Square" signs, exit from the south 1st or 2nd exit, and you'll find the entrance to the metro station. By taking metro line 2 here, passengers can get to the city center in about 15 minutes. To reach Shenyang Taoxian International Airport from here, it takes approximately 1 hour.
 After getting off at Taoxian Airport, you can take the metro Line 2 at the Taoxian Airport Metro Station on the underground level B1 of the T3 terminal building. The entire journey to the city center takes about 40 minutes, and the fare is only CNY 7, faster and more cost-effective than taking a taxi.
 Exit D of this station opens onto to Beiling Park, which is the mausoleum of the second emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), Emperor Hong Taiji (1592-1643). It is also a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Entering the park, you can visit the stone archway and stone statues, including a statue of Emperor Hong Taiji's warhorse. The park is large with ancient pine forests and lakes, ideal for taking a walk or boating. 
 Exit D is just 3-minute-walk away from the entrance of the Liaoning Provincial Museum. The best collections are mainly in the "Ancient Liaoning" exhibition hall on the third floor, such as the jade piece with pig head and dragon body from Hongshan Culture period (4500-3000BC). Next to the Provincial Museum is the Liaoning Science and Technology Museum. The heavy industrial equipment exhibits there deserves a visit, such as fighter jets, shield machines, and blast furnace iron-making models.
 From Exit C of Youth Park metro station, it takes 5 minutes to walk to the Caita Night Market, well-established with a history of over 20 years. Located behind the 305.5-meter-high (1,002 ft.) Liaoning Radio and Television Tower, it comes alive from 17:30 to 00:00. The soul snack of the night market is the sweet and salty Caita Stir-Fried Dumplings. It is made of sweet potato starch and served with potato mash, sesame paste and garlic sauce.
 From Exit A or B, walk for about 5 minutes to enter the south gate of Shenyang Aerospace University. The aviation exhibition park inside is recommended for aviation enthusiasts, military lovers, and families with children, which is free of charge and displays 16 real aircrafts, including fighter jets, helicopters, bombers, etc. You can not only closely observe the fuselage, propellers, and cabin details, but also step into the cockpit of a retired fighter jet to experience piloting.
 Exit C leads directly to Central Park, a giant grassy area. It is always the top choice for local families to go camping and for a picnic. However, for tourists who enjoy night tours and arrive between May and October, the must-see is its huge music fountain light show "Summer of Hunnan" starting at 19:30, with water curtains dancing to the music and colorful lights, showcasing gorgeous scenes like flowers blooming fully and peacocks spreading tails.
