My daughter Alexa (age 11) and I had a great time while on our 8 days journey in China. We traveled in the small group offered by TravelChinaGuide and we found it much more enjoyable than traveling with a large group.

The guides, David and Lilly were excellent. They were very knowledgeable about the artifacts we saw, well spoken, pleasant, kind and most accommodating. They even played games with us after visiting sites to see if we had learned anything. Much to my daughter's delight, she found this to be educational and fun. The bus drivers were helpful at assisting the passengers when needed. The foods in the restaurants were excellent. The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable and the staffs were very accommodating to our needs.

On my next trip to China, I plan on using their service again. I highly recommend them to anyone that is planning to visit China.

Many thanks for such a wonderful china tour. We really enjoy it. Our 3 guides, Tracy in Xian was the best in terms of knowledge, spoken English and overall demeanor. Followed by Ray in Beijing and Lilly in Shanghai. They were all on time. Transport and drivers throughout the general tour were excellent. The hotels were very good. Perhaps more time was spent during lunches. We would have preferred more sightseeing. Overall we enjoyed the tours in 3 cities. We will certainly continue to recommend this company to our friends. ... More

Our China trip was fantastic. The guides were very knowledgeable on the history of China and all of the particular dynasties. We saw more things than we probably would have seen if we traveled alone since the bus drivers knew how to drive in the cities through all of the crazy China traffic. We started every day about 8:30 am and generally went for 12-14 hours non-stop. The small tour group (18 people) worked really well, and I could not imagine going in a larger group. Here are some highpoints:

    Cities:

Beijing: the Great Wall was awesome, and the group enjoyed the Kung Fu show much more.
Xian: Terracotta Warriors were a big highlight for me of the trip, the show in Xian was outstanding.
Shanghai: wonderful city, great architecture, we wish we had another day there to hang out and go to the nightclubs.

    Hotels:

Hotel in Beijing was ok. Sheraton Hotel in Xian was good and had the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. Hotel in Shanghai was also good, about 20 minutes' drive to Bund which was not as exciting of a nightlife location as I originally thought, but we were able to get great night time photos.

    Food:

Generally speaking, the food was good and it was Chinese style. You have to get good at using chopsticks. The best meal was the home cooked food in a Xian family.

Thanks again, it was a truly memorable China tour we will remember forever.
