Overall, we very happy with the time allotted for all of the different sites and activities. We had a small group (8 people) and this allowed us time to take pictures and acquire background information from the guide without preventing us from seeing everything on our agenda. In most cities, we felt that Travel China Guide made sure that the agenda was full and our guides did a great job of altering our activities if we came across extra time or if the group agreed on a particular side trip.
Overall the meals were very good. There were times when I felt that we were eating a lot of the same dishes but every meal had something that everyone enjoyed. Our guides were very helpful in making sure we received different types of dishes and were open to helping swap in some dishes that others were requesting.
My favorite dish that we had was the duck from our second day in Beijing where the woman at the restaurant showed us how to prepare it with the wrap using chop sticks. That was something that we never saw in Philadelphia and we really enjoyed.
We are happy we book our trip with TCG. Thanks.

Our guides were very knowledgeable, and eager to help. Rose was difficult to understand at times, but was happy to explain when we asked. We have no complaints at all about the level of knowledge of the guides. Echo, in Xian, was excellent. She was easy to understand, and very entertaining; she also gave us a lot of information about the excursions. We only met Michael briefly, as we left the tour in Shanghai to spend festival with relatives, but his English was excellent, and he seemed very nice.

We were most impressed with the state of the cars and buses, and the attitude of the drivers. All were excellent drivers, very patient and helpful to us.

We would recommend this company to anyone visiting China. We felt the service was very professional, and the standard of the hotels was mostly outstanding. After our first day, we felt relaxed and comfortable, knowing that we were going to be well looked after.

How fortunate we feel to have been able to take this brief tour with 9 wonderful people and very good guides and drivers. We were very pleased with the itinerary and accommodation.

Having the meal arrive at the table so quickly after getting to a restaurant was an excellent way to conserve time for visiting attractions. The dumpling dinner was a favorite and provided a pleasant change. Since we enjoyed perfect weather throughout our tour we were wishing we could have had a "bag lunch" to enjoy on the Great Wall and at the Summer Palace. That would have added some variety to the food and would have allowed more time in those incredible settings. A "bag lunch" or any other plan to avoid the airport food would have been welcome.

In Xian, Lily's engaging, kind nature made us all want to have her come home with us. She was attentive to such details as introducing the driver who was especially personable--they were a great team. We especially appreciated her accommodating our wish to see the city wall with its lights and directing each of us to our preferred evening pursuits.

Shanghai will certainly require another visit. Our time was just too short to become acquainted with the waterfront and the many incredible buildings. Thanks to Lawry, one of our group, we experienced a real highlight-- taking the Maglev (the high-speed train) to the airport. Annie, our guide, was helpful in sorting out the best way to do so.

Ah...SO MUCH TO SEE AND EXPERIENCE and SO LITTLE TIME!!!

I have already recommended Travel China Guide to friends and will continue to do so. Thank you for your part in making our holiday memorable.

We did the tour from Beijing to Xi'An, and ended off in Shanghai. The tour was really amazing!

The tour itself was very well organised, and logistically, it was really efficient. It covered all the major tourist sites in Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai, so it gives you good exposure to the highlights of China. The guides are very knowledgeable and provide comprehensive background on the tourist sites.

The food was good and always plentiful! We got to experience unique dishes from all the different regions in China.

We visited a pearl, jade and terracotta factory/shop, one in each city. This was just enough, as we had the opportunity to buy good quality products, but did not waste too much time shopping.

If I had to be really critical, I would say that it would have been nice to visit the great mosque and great goose pagoda in Xi'An. That being said, the tour does give you evenings off to explore on your own. The guides are also always willing to help you with questions.

Hotels were excellent, clean, very professional, and breakfast was always decent. The transport vehicles were always clean and the drivers friendly.

Overall the tour was very good, and I would definitely recommend it, if you want a overview of the major cities in China!

We had an amazing time on our small group trip, we would highly recommend travelling with TravelChinaGuide to our friends, family or others we hear of planning this type of trip. We really felt that the value we received for our money was outstanding, we definitely got our money's worth! The scheduling was most impressive as the trip really runs like a well-oiled machine with time for pictures, sightseeing and learning about the history and culture. The tour guides are fun, energetic and professional throughout the tour, we really enjoyed each guide that we had. The evening shows were wonderful and we enjoyed the Chinese Acrobat performance in Shanghai - we really felt that was a once in a lifetime opportunity. ... More
