Day 1 Flying from Detroit
There is one direct flight from Detroit to Beijing every day with the overall travel time of around 14 hours. We will reserve the air tickets and confirm the flight information with you in advance. Please go to the airport and take the flight to Beijing by yourself on the day of travel.
Day 2 Arrival in Beijing

Upon arrival, we will pick you up at Beijing airport and transfer you to check in at the hotel. The remaining time of the day is free for you. You can have rest at the hotel to restore strength or get familiar with the city by walking around.

Day 3 Beijing
After breakfast, your China tour from Detroit is going to start. Our guide will accompany you to Tiananmen Square. Afterwards, extend the visit to the Forbidden City, also namely Imperial Palace. It is the royal palace of the twenty-four emperors of the Ming (1368 - 1644 AD) and Qing (1644 - 1911 AD) Dynasties and it is also the largest existing palace building in China.

Around noon, we will serve you an a la carte welcome lunch with authentic Chinese cuisine and Peking Duck.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for the grain and rain. Then, accompanied by our guide, you will enjoy an amazing Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theater.

Day 4 Beijing
Head to the majestic Mutianyu Great Wall in the morning, served as the protective screen to guard Beijing for hundreds of years. The round-trip cable car up and down the wall is included. A toast with red wine will be arranged for you to leave your China tour from USA an amazing memory.

Today's lunch is not arranged as the nearby restaurants are not up to our standard. We kindly suggest that you eat well for the breakfast or prepare some snacks and fast food. If needed, you can dine at a nearby restaurant with the help of our guide.

We will return to downtown in the afternoon and explore a famous local market. After that, our guide and driver will take you back to the hotel.

Day 5 Beijing - Xi'an
The first stop of today's China tour from Detroit is the Summer Palace, which is famous for its gardening techniques perfectly combining artificial architectures and natural landscapes. Then, drive by the Olympic National Stadium and take some photos.

An a la carte lunch will be served for you at a nice local restaurant.

After lunch, a visit to Beijing Hutongs by rickshaw follows. An experience of Chinese Paper Cutting is prepared for you next. Later, our guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Xi'an. Upon arrival, you will meet our Xi'an guide and be taken to the hotel for two-night stay. Have a great rest and start your Xi'an trip next day.

Visit the Terracotta Army to see the grand and exquisite army of terracotta soldiers, which is one of the eight wonders of the world. More than a thousand terracotta warriors and horses unearthed here have different facial expressions and vivid appearances. It is the glory in the history of ancient Chinese sculpture art.

Then, go back to Xi'an downtown. Pay a visit to a local family and have an authentic home-cooked a la carte lunch there; you can learn to cook Chinese cuisine and learn about Chinese food culture and tradition from the host.

In the afternoon, proceed to Xi'an Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Later, a wonderful evening is arranged for you. You will be accompanied to watch the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show and sample the popular Dumpling Dinner.

Clients visiting in Jan, Feb, Mar and Dec need to arrange the dinner and evening activity on their own for this day, since the theater is usually not open at that time.
Day 7 Xi'an - Lhasa
After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport to catch the morning flight to Lhasa. When you arrive, our local guide will pick you up and help you check in at the hotel. Lhasa is located at high altitudes and you may catch altitude sickness. It is kindly recommended that you take a break to get used to the high altitude for the rest of the day.

Day 8 Lhasa

The first stop of our itinerary today is the Norbulingka Park, also known as "Summer Palace in Lhasa". It is a place where the Dalai Lama spent the summer and is a typical Tibetan style garden. There are more than 100 kinds of plants in the park, including not only the common flowers and trees in Lhasa, but also the exotic and precious flowers and plants from Himalayas and other regions or countries.

Then, continue to visit Sera Monastery. The buildings in the temple are of Tibetan style, and the temple hall is magnificent and very grand. There are many Buddha statues and a large number of classic art treasures such as classic scriptures, exquisite Thangka, pile embroidery and mural paintings in the temple.

Later, our guide will accompany you to the Viewing Platform of Yaowang Hill which is undoubtedly the best location for a panoramic view of Potala Palace.

Day 9 Lhasa

Today's China tour from Detroit will start with a visit to the Potala Palace which was traditionally the seat of the Dalai Lama, Tibetan Buddhists' spiritual leader. The main building of the palace has 13 floors and the height is around 115 meters (125 yards) with the structure of stone and wood.

Then, extend to the Jokhang Temple. It combines the architectural styles of Tibetan, tradition Chinese, Nepalese and Indian and has become a classical model of Tibetan religious architecture for a long time. Later, continue to visit Barkhor Street which is the commercial center and the busiest street in Lhasa. We will conclude the day at a Nunnery.

Day 10 Lhasa - Shanghai
Today, you will be guided to the airport for the flight to Shanghai, the last destination of your China tour from America. Upon landing, our guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. After check-in, you can take a walk at the surrounding area or have a good rest at the hotel to prepare for your Shanghai tour tomorrow.

The morning visit takes you to Shanghai Museum. After that, proceed to the well-known Yu Garden and its nearby bazaar. Yu Garden is a classical garden with a history of more than 400 years. It is a rare and quaint place in a bustling city with delicate design and quiet environment.

Later, we will serve you an a la carte lunch in a fancy restaurant.

In the afternoon, our guide will accompany you to the Former French Concession, the most exotic residential area in Shanghai. Afterwards, visit the Bund and have a cruise tour along the Huangpu River. Then, our guide will transfer you back to the hotel and say bon voyage to you.

Day 12 Shanghai - Detroit
Your China tour from the United States is going to finish. Please pack your luggage and check out before 12 o'clock. The transfer between hotel and airport is not included. You can take a taxi to the airport, which cost around CNY 200. One direct flight is available from Shanghai to Detroit every day. Wish you all the best!
