Stone Steles Forest Museum: Room 1 Pictures

The stone tablets in the first room are mainly “Kaicheng Classics” because they were carved in the year of Kaicheng (837) in Tang Dynasty. These classics mainly contain twelve must-reading books for intellectuals in feudalist society such as The Book of Change, the Analects and The Book of Songs. To prevent copying errors, these classics were carved on the tablets and placed in the Imperial College in ancient times. The “Kaicheng Classics” is the best preserved set of classics on stones in China.
