Day 1 Shangrao Railway Station Pick-up, Visit Wangxian Valley
Upon your arrival in Shangrao today, your private guide and driver will greet you at the high-speed train station, and then accompany you on a 1-hour private car ride to Wangxian Valley, a fantasy village built along the towering cliffs.
Local legend holds that nearly 2,000 years ago, a revered hermit resigned from his official position and settled here to do good deeds and devote himself to spiritual cultivation, eventually ascending to heaven as an immortal. The word “Wangxian” in the name, referring to “awaiting the immortal”, derives from his kinsfolk who gazed towards his once dwelling place day after day, yearning for his return.

When you get to Workshop Street, feast your eyes on indigo cloth from the dyeing workshop swaying softly in the breeze, thin shavings in the carpentry studio dancing like snowflakes, and sparks flicker in the smithy. At Countless Flavors Street, you’ll find your mouth watering over various local delicacies, including the Shangrao Roasted Chicken Leg, fried tofu, and winter melon tea. Also, enjoy or attend a wide range of traditional cultural performances along the way. For instance, the Yang Mansion, characterized by soaring horse-head walls and delicate carvings, comes to life with the immersive play “Yang Family Folktales”. You may become a character in a quaint courtyard, guided by a robe-clad butler NPC, to witness the historical vicissitudes of the Yang family.
