Price
1. For children under 14 years old, admission to the main entrance is free. They are required to obtain a complimentary ticket at the ticket counter, by presenting the valid passport/ ID.
 
Price Excludes
1. Peak forest cableway on the mountaintop: CNY25 for single-way
2. The lower escalator to Tianmen cave: CNY32 for single-way
3. Shoe covers for glass skywalk: CNY5 per pair.
How to Book and Use
1. Book & pay online, we will emailyou confirmation with QR code. Please show your passport and the QR code at the entrance.
2. The site sets limitation of the number of visitors for each hour, all the visitors will be allotted to one specific entrance hour, the entrance time will be sent to you within 5 days before the visiting date. Please check-in during the designated time duration.
3. We do not recommend a late afternoon entry, especially during the high season when the site is consistently crowded. Late arrival combined with long queues will significantly reduce your sightseeing time. Additionally, the fading light may lead to a diminished experience and poor photo conditions .
4. Tickets are only valid for the selected travel date.

Change & Cancellation
1. Tianmenshan has a strict cancellation policy:
More than 72 hours before entry: A change fee of CNY 30 per ticket applies.
24 to 72 hours before entry: A change fee of CNY 60 per ticket applies.
Less than 24 hours before entry: No changes or refunds are permitted.
2. All date or time changes are processed as a rebooking, subject to both availability and the applicable fees outlined above.
Please be advised that the Grand Cableway at Tianmen Mountain will be undergoing maintenance from November 6, 2025, for a period expected to exceed one year. This will impact the two most popular routes, Line A and Line B. During this period, visitors will be unable to take the cableway for the entire journey. A transfer to the eco-bus between the Middle and Upper Stations will be required for these lines.

Uphill: Transmountain Escalator → Mountain Top Attractions
Downhill: Transmountain Escalator → Tianmen Cave
Downhill: Here, visitors have two options to choose, one is to take the Eco-bus to Cableway Middle Station and then take Cableway to Lower Station; the other is to take the Tianmen Cave Express Cableway directly downhill to Mountain Gate.
 
Line A: (Uphill via Mountain Cableway)
Uphill: Mountain Cableway (Lower Station to Middle Station) → Eco-bus to Tianmen Cave
Uphill: Transmountain Escalator → Mountain Top Attractions
Downhill: Transmountain Escalator → Tianmen Cave
Downhill: Tianmen Cave Express Cableway → Mountain Gate, shuttle Bus back.
 
Line C: Round-Trip Tianmen Cave Express Line
Shuttle Bus to Mountain Gate

Visitor Tip:
To avoid climbing the 999 Stairs, a paid escalator is available as a convenient alternative. The one-way ticket costs CNY 32 per person and can be purchased on-site.
What to Expect
Zhangjiajie is a place worth going in China, and Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is a must to visit in Zhangjiajie. It is a unique karst landform mountain like a beautiful sky garden, and has been always honored as “The Soul of Zhangjiajie”. Only 8 km (5 miles) from the downtown, it is a convenient and unmissable spot. Hurry up to book the tickets!

Tianmen Mountain is named after the rare natural wonder of Tianmen Cave, which is a big hole on the high mountain, looking like the entrance to Heaven with clouds and mist round. Book the ticket, you can enjoy the misty miracle.

How to reach the Tianmen Cave? There is the Heaven-linking Avenue for you. It is the only way to Tianmen Cave with 999 steps. You can experience the hiking that makes you feel walking from the earth to the mysterious fairyland.

Taking Tianmen Mountain Cableway will also be an amazing experience. It is extremely long with a total length of 7,454 meters (8,152 yards) and a drop of 1,277 meters (4,190 feet), and the one-way running time is about 30 minutes. The slope of the cableway reaches 37 degrees. You will feel like flying in air.

Glass Skywalk on the cliff is a breath-taking way in Tianmen Mountain. On fine days, there are reflections of sun, clouds and trees on the Glass Skywalk, you can also look down the cliff clearly. On misty days, you will feel like walking in the air as the Glass Skywalk is partly hidden and partly visible. Anyway, it would be incredible.

How to get to Tianmen Mountain?
Take the city bus 1, 4, 10a, 102, 4-Inner Ring, 10-Inner Ring, 10-Outer Ring and get off at Tianmen Mountain Cableway Stop.
Take the city bus 9 to Guanliping Roundabout Stop.
Take the city bus 6, 8 to Gezihua International Hotel Stop.

Guanliping Roundabout and Gezihua International Hotel are extremely near the Tianmen Mountain Cableway lower-station. Getting off the bus, you can take the cable car or the shuttle bus to Tianmen Mountain.
