Itinerary : 7 days of Chengdu - Dujiangyan - Qingcheng Mountain - Leshan - Mt. Emei - Chengdu

After settle down in Chengdu, you are suggested to visit the Xichun Road to taste the flavor snack and experience the local people's life. It is very convenient to take bus or taxi in downtown. The flag-fall price in downtown Chengdu is CNY5.00 net, which covers the first 1 kilometres of a trip and it will charge CNY1.40 net per kilometer.

In the morning, take a bus from Chengdu Chayezidian bus station to Dujiangyan. The bus is available every 7 minutes from 7:00 to 20:00 there and the ticket fee is CNY16.00 net per person. After 40 minutes, you will arrive in Dujiangyan. Visit the famous irrigation system. In the afternoon, take a bus from Dujiangyan Passenger Transportation Center every 30 minutes to Mt. Qingcheng, located in the southwest of Dujiangyan. It is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. If you get off at the anterior Mt. Qingcheng, the ticket is CNY9.50 net per person, while to the posterior is CNY5.00 net per person. Climbing up the mountain, you will visit the Jianfu Palace, the Shangqing Palace, Zushi Palace and the Tianshi Cave. You can take a bus at the entrance of Mt. Qingcheng back to Chengdu. The last bus will set off at 18:00.

In the third day, ahead to Leshan and Mt. Emei. Take a bus from New South Gate Bus Station  from 6:30 to 21:30 to Leshan. The bus will set off every 30 minutes. Two hour journey time costs around CNY35.00 net per person. After you get off at the Leshan Xiaoba bus station, you may take taxi to the No.1 Buddha under Heaven' - Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area (including the Giant Sleeping Buddha). Take a boat to the center of Minjiang River to have a best view of the Great Buddha. The Grand Buddha is 71 meters high, carved into a cliff face overlooking the confluence of the Dadu and Min rivers. The admission fee is CNY 70.00 (Excluding CNY 50.00 for a boat trip). Continue taking bus around 1 hour to Emei. Upon arrival in Emei, you may either take rickshaw or bus to Emei downtown. The rickshaw usually takes around CNY5.00 net. You are suggested to stay at the Emei Grass Roots Youth Hostel, only 500 metres from the Baoguo monastery. The phone number is 0833-5955099. If you still have time, you can visit Baoguo Monastery with ticket of CNY8.00 net per preson and Fuhu Temple with CNY6.00 net per person.

Leshan Giant Buddha

Take the sightseeing bus to Wannian Temple Parking Lot and start the trekking to Qingyinge Temple. You are not only visiting the temple but also enjoy the amazing vegetarian lunch cooked by the monks. Passing the 5 km-long Heart Watching Hill, you will be at Calming House. On the journey from Calming House to Elephant-Bathing Pool, there are the scenic spots of Zhanglao Terrace, Chu Hall, Huayan Summit, Jiuling Mountain and Zuantian Slope. Stay overnight in the Guesthouse or the temples near Elephant-Bathing Pool. Have a good relaxation and enjoy a tranquil night here, because you are on the half of Mt. Emei. The wild monkeys might give you a lovely surprise!

Continue trekking to Golden Summit, 1.5 km. far from Elephant-Bathing Pool through Lianwang Slope and Leidong Ground. On the Golden Summit, beyond Woyun Nunnery and Golden summit Temple, people could enjoy the four spectacles on Golden Summit which the height is 3077M above sea level. Stay at Woyun nunnery or Jinding Shanzhuang.

Enjoy the beautiful sunrise which is one of the four spectacles of Mt. Emei. Back to Leidong Groud parking lot. You may choose the ropeway for return. The one way ropeway charge is CNY40.00 net per person. Take bus to the Traffic Center on the foot of the Mt. Emei. The long-distance bus to Chengdu is available every 30 minutes from 9:00 to 18:00. The ticket costs CNY35.00 net per person.

Leave Chengdu as your schedule. You may refer to the local person for the bus from your hotel to airport or railway station.
