3 Days of the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge

Day 01: Lijiang - Qiaotou - Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge
Drive 3 hours from Lijiang along hillside road to Qiaotou Village (2000 meters), which is the entrance of Tiger Leaping Gorge. Start your trekking here. Walk 6 hours from Qiaotou to Middle Gorge. En route, view 13 peaks of Jade Snow Mountain, Haba Snow Mountain; exploring 24 zigzagging trails; enjoy the word's famous gorge - Tiger Leaping Gorge, the onrushing Golden Sand River, Longdongshui Waterfall, and Guanyinmiao Waterfall.

Day 02: Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge - Heika Village
Walk down to the bottom of the gorge to sightsee waterfalls, vegetation, the most narrow part of the Tiger Leaping Gorge - Gate of Gorge (30 meters wide only), and the One Thread of Sky. Traversing the gorge, walk along the trails where the ancients were fossicking the gold on the Golden Sand River and arrive at the Walnut Grove. Afterwards, go on walking to Heika Village which is the end of Tiger Leaping Gorge.

Day 03: Heika Village - Departure
Drive back to Lijiang and leave according to your schedule.

IMHO, this is not a big problem. Being some kind of commercial is the inevitable result of managing the sites to some extent. They also provide a convenient place for you to buy some souvenirs for your family or friends and provide some restaurants with good environment and service. What's more, some of the taxes they paid will be used for maintaining and constructing of the sites. In result, the beautiful natural scenic spots and the precious historical heritages can be well preserved. Of course, the negative effect is they may destroy the original scenery in certain degree.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is worth the walk but may leave you breathless. The hamlets around Dali are charming, more than worth a cycle-ride. Lijiang is disappointingly over-run by tourists. By most accounts, yak butter tea is not a treat.

Hi, please advise as to availability of this or any 3 day hike in Tiger Leaping Gorge departing on octobe3 23rd from Lijiang and returning on october 26th.
