Can u confirm how long it will take to drive 300km to Sapa? Is it an air-conditioned car? Also how long does it take to drive to Haling Bay? Is it possible to drive to Halong Bay from Sapa or back to Hanoi and then? If it means an extra night in Sapa that is ok. Just trying to cut down in distances.

It takes about 5.5 hours to drive from Hanoi and about 3.5 hours from Hanoi to Halong Bay. We will arrange the Air-condition car for you. Sapa and Halong Bay are in different directions. Normally driving from Hanoi to Sapa takes 5.5 hours, from Hanoi to Halong Bay 3.5 hours. If you prefer driving from Halong Bay to Sapa directly it will take 9 hours which is too long drive. So we usually do not arrange like this.

You can take train from Hanoi to Laocai, and then take bus to Hekou and finally reach Kunming. Kunming is in the southewest of China, While Turpan is in the North West. They are too far away from each other. Trains between the two cities may take around 62 hours, so I suggest you take flight to Urumqi (6 hours) and then take bus to Turpan. There is an overnight train (10 hours) from Urumqi to Ahlahs Shankou Pass, which connects China with Kazakstan.
