Day 1 Male Airport Pick-up; Speedboat to Rasdhoo
Welcome to the Maldives! When you arrive at Velana Airport in Male, your guide will pick you up for a private car transfer to the pier, and escort you to Rasdhoo Island by speedboat in 1 hour. Departures are available twice daily at 10:30 and 16:00, which can serve as a reference for your arrival flight.

Rasdhoo, a less-commercialized local island with a small population, maintains its genuine Maldivian character, making it perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The rest of the day is yours to explore this remote Indian Ocean island at your leisure. At sunset, Bikini Beach offers an ideal spot to watch the day fade, where you can mingle with locals, enjoy music, and take photos in a beautifully atmospheric setting.

The hotel we booked for you features one of the island’s top restaurants, renowned among tourists for offering the best value for money with its tasty food, reasonable prices, and large portions. Popular dishes include Sri Lankan-style Mixed Kutto, classic Indian Butter Chicken, Maldivian-style Grilled Tuna, and Braised Beef with Chili. All dinners are included in your itinerary, and if you enjoy the food, you may also opt for self-paid lunches there.

Day 2 Rasdhoo Snorkeling Excursion
Rasdhoo Atoll boasts numerous world-class dive sites renowned for their stunning underwater scenery. After breakfast, follow your guide on a boat ride to snorkel at some of the top sites. When you hold onto the coral reef cliff, a strong current might bring into view schools of gray, silvertip, and blacktip reef sharks swimming face-to-face with numerous smaller fish, creating an incredible sight. Rasdhoo Channel is also a key destination for eagle rays and Napoleon wrasse, with chances to observe jackfish storms, barracuda shoals, and swarms of cornetfish. Once your diving tour ends, we’ll head back to the island. A delicious, pre-arranged dinner awaits you.

 Tips
1. Diving equipment will be provided on board, but mainly wet snorkels. If you are concerned about hygiene, you are advised to bring your own.
2. Hammerhead sharks are typically visible only during morning dives. If you wish to see them, it’s advisable to discuss with your guide in advance whether they can arrange a special morning dive.
3. Lemon Drop Restaurant, near the pier, is perfect for your post-diving lunch. They offer hearty portions and fast service, usually costing between USD 10 and 20 per person. Their beef burgers, grilled shrimp, and curry are all worth trying.

Day 3 Rasdhoo Dolphin Watching Cruise
Today, prepare to experience the highlight of your itinerary: a guided dolphin watching cruise. After breakfast, your guide will escort you from your hotel to the boat, where the local crew will lead you to the areas with the highest chances of spotting dolphins. Thanks to its rich marine ecosystem, the Maldives is home to many wild dolphins, mainly spinner and bottlenose dolphins. The better the water quality and the less human activity nearby, the greater the likelihood of sightings. Consequently, Rasdhoo Island, being secluded and calm, has become a popular destination for dolphin watching in the central and western Maldives. As the cruise ends, your guide will return you to your hotel.

 Optimal Times for Dolphin Watching
The peak dolphin-watching season runs from April to October, with the best chances from May to September, especially in calm weather when dolphin groups are easier to spot. Dolphins are most active between 5:30 and 7:00, so we can schedule an early-morning spotting. If that’s too early, the late afternoon hours from 16:00 to 18:30 also offer a good chance to see dolphins and enjoy a beautiful sunset. You can coordinate your preferred departure time with your guide in advance.

Accommodation: Shallow Lagoon Rasdhoo (3 stars) or similar
Day 4 Rasdhoo Snorkeling with Manta Rays
This morning, continue your snorkeling adventure with your guide to additional sites in the northern channel of Rasdhoo Atoll, including the Madi Gaa Manta Ray Cleaning Station. This underwater reef is where manta rays line up to clean themselves, often somersaulting and chasing each other – a truly immersive experience! To avoid disturbing their natural behavior, it’s best to stay quiet while snorkeling and refrain from touching or chasing them. Doing so helps them feel safer and may even encourage them to approach you, sometimes touching you with their fins as a greeting. After a wonderful time with manta rays, follow your guide back to your hotel.

Why We Choose Rasdhoo for You
While the Maldives’ dry season from November to April is usually recommended, manta rays are more visible during the rainy season from June to September. During this time, ocean currents bring abundant plankton and krill, creating impressive Manta Storms as manta rays feed on them. However, the Rasdhoo Atoll is one of the few golden dive spots where there is still a strong likelihood of seeing manta rays, even during the dry season.

Day 5 Free Day in Rasdhoo
The day before you leave Rasdhoo, you’ll have an entire day at your leisure to enjoy the island to the fullest. Our vacation specialists suggest some popular options for you to consider:
1. Whale shark excursions are available from May to December.
2. Experienced divers can attempt scuba diving to explore the underwater environment further.
3. For a peaceful retreat with your partner, think about visiting a secluded sandbank or enjoying a romantic sunset cruise.
4. Embark on a night fishing journey to enjoy the harvest in the Maldives’ abundant waters.

 Reminder about Local Customs
Since the Maldives is an Islamic country, visitors should wear long skirts and trousers in public, except at Bikini Beach. During Ramadan, avoid eating or drinking in public or in front of Muslims during daylight hours; however, eating at your hotel is acceptable. The dates of Ramadan change each year, generally starting about 10 days earlier than the previous year. You can verify the exact dates before your trip.
