Day 4 Jiuzhaigou
Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area: Multi-coloured Lake, Nuorilong Fall, Long Lake and the Pearl Beach. (B+D)
Jiuzhaigou scenic area
Today you will have a full day sightseeing to Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, the most highlight during the Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou tour itinerary. The well-known Jiuzhaigou Valley is a 35-kilometer long valley with diverse natural beauty. It consists of three main valleys which are at an altitude of about 2,500 meters. The 60,000 hectares of fairyland includes well-protected virgin forests, 108 clear lakes, verdant mountains, and gorgeous waterfalls. The famous attractions you will encounter are the Multi-colored Lake, the Nuorilong Fall, the Long Lake and the Pearl Beach.

The Multi-colored Lake is the smallest but most colorful lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley, and is famous for a profusion of colors and limpidity. You will see the colors of azure, light green and orange in the same pond. The Nuorilang Fall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the valley. In Tibetan language, Nuorilang means majestic and grand waterfall. The surging currents rush passionately and dash down in a series of cascades. In the morning, many rainbows can be seen hanging up over the waterfall, which makes the Nuorilang Fall more charming and attractive. When coming to the Long Lake, you will see the s-shape lake meandering in the valley and the crystal water reflecting the snow-capped peaks, verdant forests, blue sky and white clouds. The Pearl Beach is a large calc-sinter flow fanned out the scraggy beach. The clear waters race down the pale yellow beach and tumble down the rocks, throwing up drops of spray, resembling pearls gleaming in the sunshine.

Tips: In Jiuzhaigou scenic attraction area there is only one cafeteria with many people queuing up at the buffet all the time. Also, it offers inferior food and poor service that can not come up to our standard, so we do not arrange lunch for you today. We suggest you have a hearty breakfast in the hotel and take some snacks with you to renew physical vigor.

As I know, Jiuzhai Valley reopens to the public from Mar. 8, 2018 to Mar.7, 2019 after the earthquake. However, now only tourist groups can enter the scenic area and no entry for individuals. Therefore, I would suggest you join in a group tour if you want to visit there this year.

Hi catherine, I do not think it is a good time to visit Jiuzhaigou, because there is only a few places that open to the public and hotels and restaurants might still be closed.

No, there is no train service. Actually, the rail roads between the two places are under construction and will be finished in 2020. And I'd recommend angelie hotel to you which is within 5min walking to the entrance of Jiuzhaigou.

Note: The valley now is closed because of the earthquake in 2017, and some parts may reopen within 2018. You are suggested to pay close attention to the news.
