After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby, and then let’s enjoy a 45-minute drive to the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, a stunning tropical rainforest reserve offering breathtaking coastal views and scenic canopy walkways. 

To make your trip easier, we’ve included an electric shuttle bus ride to whisk you around the whole scenic area, with stops at the major sights along the way. The first stop will be the Orchid Valley, where you can stroll along the vine-covered trails ablaze with a diverse array of potted orchids. If you come between November and March, you’ll find flocks of wild butterflies creating a magical scene and offering wonderful photo opportunities. Next will be the Cross-River Dragon Cable Bridge, which resembles a slender dragon stretching across the gorge between two lush mountains, gently swaying with the mountain wind. The viewing platform on its right will allow you to soak up a breathtaking vista: facing the blue ocean, wooden cabins are silently tucked away among tree-cloaked mountains. Walking across it is a thrilling activity, and if you’re interested, you can decide on-site to experience it at your own expense. 

Following that, continue our way to the Summit Park, where you can admire a full view of the azure sea and tropical rainforest along its rainbow staircase. Climbing upward, behold a variety of tropical plants, including dragon trees with distinctive red sap, coffee trees, and cacao trees. After passing the Dragon Sculpture Plaza, ascend to the Canghai Pagoda, which offers a 360-degree panorama of Yalong Bay, hailed as the “World’s Premier Bay”. On sunny days, the water sparkles like crystal-blue sapphires. After the visit, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel.

Get up early and catch a beautiful seaside sunrise by the beach near your hotel if the weather is fine. As dawn breaks through the darkness, the brilliant morning glow paints the ocean and sky in a breathtaking blaze of orange and red. The rising sun leaps from the horizon, with the glistening waves illuminated in a golden red. Later, you may go back to the hotel for a hearty breakfast and a short rest.

After that, you can head to the Luhuitou Scenic Area, literally meaning “a deer looking back”. It takes 30-50 minutes by taxi from your hotel and costs USD 3-6. The admission is free. Hailed as the “Love Mountain in the South China Sea”, the peninsula boasts many love-themed attractions, including its iconic homonymous sculpture at the highest point in Sanya. From here, you will take in a sweeping view of Sanya Bay, Phoenix Island, Dadonghai Bay, and the entire city. 

If your hotel is in Yalong Bay, take a 20-minute ferry from the Wuzhizhou Island Tourist Center to Wuzhizhou Island to enjoy various water activities. Jet skiing may be your top choice: with a seasoned instructor, you’ll speed across the vast sea and feel the sheer joy of waves surging behind you. Should sea conditions permit, you can drive yourself. Snorkeling lets you discover the mysterious underwater world, home to clownfish, colorful coral reefs, and anemones. Be aware that the last return ferry usually departs between 18:00 and 19:00. 

From your hotel in Sanya Bay, just take a 15-minute ferry ride from Xiaoqi Wharf to West Island for a laid-back trip to pristine fishing villages. Explore the 400-year-old fishing village with century-old houses erected from porous coral stones, whispering tales of former islanders’ survival wisdom. If time permits, walk back through the coconut-fringed promenade to the Cow King Islet for a stunning sunset. Note that the final return ferry leaves at around 19:00.
