Putuo Zongcheng Temple Pictures

The name of this temple Putuo Zongcheng is translated from Potala Palace in Tibetan, which means the ritual ground for Bodhisattva. It was modeled after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, which was built from 1767 to 1771, covering an area of 220, 000 square kilometers. Among the Eight Outer Temples, it is the largest one. In 1771, the leads and senior officials from Tibet and Mongolia gathered in the Mountain Resort to celebrate the 60th birthday of Emperor Qianlong and the 80th birthday of his mother. In honor of the celebration, Emperor Qianlong had the temple built. Attraction Intro: Putuo Zongcheng Temple

Go from Beijing airport to Chengde right away? Beijing Liuliqiao or Sihui Long-Distance Bus Station have regular buses to Chengde. Not very easy for you to find the coach station I guess. Perhaps you can take a taxi and Sihui is closer to the airport. The other option is to take airport bus to Beijing Railway Station and then take train to Chengde. Train is a bit slower, about 5-6 hours, 4 hours by bus.

Actually, Beijing is surrounded by Hebei Province. Both of the train and bus are very convenient between them. Which city of Hebei Province are your going to? Well, you could search the train infor at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/

Dear Chengde experts,
Are there frequent coaches to Qinhuandao / Shanhaiguan? How long does it take and how much do they cost? What are the alternatives?
Kind regards,

Maarten

Hi, take bus no 33 or 25 to shanghaiguang from qinhuangdao. The price is 2 yuan and the duration is about 50 minutes. If you take taxi, it is faster (about 30 minutes) and the cost is higher too: 30 yuan.

Sorry, my question was ambiguous. I wanted to ask whether there are coaches or trains from Chengde to either Qinhuangdao or Shanhaiguan.
Thanks!

NO train. You can take coach at Chengde Long-distance Bus Station (East Bus Station) to Qinhuangdao (4.5-6hours) then change to city bus to Shanhaiguan.
