Day 2 Tokyo: Senso-ji Temple, Sumida River Cruise, Odaiba
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel, and let’s start today’s exciting journey from the Asakusa area. Check out the iconic giant red lantern of the Kaminarimon Gate and stroll through the busy Nakamise-dori Street. Blend in with a seething mass of tourists, see kimono-dressed girls passing by from time to time, and you will be surprised at the bustling vibe here and attracted by the interesting souvenirs and tempting street food. At the end of the street, we will reach the Senso-ji Temple, the oldest temple in Tokyo, which has played an important role in Japanese history. After entering the temple, wash your hands and rinse your mouth like a local before entering the main hall to worship and feel the pious atmosphere of Japanese Buddhism.

After the visit, we will specially arrange a Tokyo Bay Cruise along the Sumida River for you to take in the city view from another angle on the water. Board the Himiko cruise boat with futuristic design and enjoy the gentle breeze on the river during the 50-minute cruise, with views of the Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, and Rainbow Bridge along the way to Odaiba. This man-made land Odaiba will surprise you. Follow the guide to visit the Odaiba Seaside Park and its surrounding areas, such as the Statue of Liberty, Daiba Itchome Shotengai, Aqua City and Unicorn Gundam Statue, which represent the most modern side of Japan.

Finally, the guide will escort you back to the hotel, or leave you free at Shinjuku, at either the Kabukicho or Omoide Yokocho, a narrow alley that looks unremarkable from the outside but is packed with popular eateries and bars. You can have dinner here and walk 10 minutes back to the hotel by yourself.

Day 3 Tokyo to Mt. Fuji Tour: Lake Kawaguchi Cruise & Fuji Panorama Ropeway
Today’s Mount Fuji tour will be a highlight of your stay in Japan. This active volcano, dormant for more than 300 years, has been hailed as a honeymoon destination, as legend has it that couples who see its snow-capped summit will grow old together. Our guide will pick you up from the hotel at 8:00 and we’ll leave early for a 2-hour express bus ride to the Lake Kawaguchi, one of the best points for viewing the Mount Fuji. Upon arrival, take a relaxing lakeshore walk, and then board a sightseeing boat for a pleasant Lake Kawaguchi Cruise. On a clear, windless day, you can see the ‘Upside-down Fuji’ reflected on the blue calm lake, a famous sight that is printed on the JPY 1,000 note. Next, we will specially arrange the Fuji Panorama Ropeway, taking you to the top of the mountain in a few minutes to enjoy a different magnificent view.

➤ If you come in spring or autumn, we can also visit the Arakurayama Sengen Park if time permits. Put the park’s highest point, the Chureito Pagoda, and the graceful Mount Fuji in the distance in your frame, with the romantic cherry blossoms or red leaves in the foreground, and you would take an evocative photo to add to your lifetime album.

Flexible Date to Visit Mount Fuji: It is said that Mount Fuji can be seen in full view only 80 days a year. You can check the weather forecast a week before your trip and choose to visit the Mount Fuji on any of your 4 days in Tokyo, as we are the only travel agency to support this temporary date change service.

In the end, the guide will accompany you on an express bus back to Tokyo, arriving at the hotel around 20:00. Have a good rest!

Day 4 Tokyo Exploration: Meiji Jingu Shrine, Sushi Making Class, Shibuya
After breakfast, the guide will pick you up from the hotel lobby and escort you to visit the Meiji Jingu Shrine, an important Shinto shrine in Tokyo that honors Emperor Meiji (1852 – 1912 AD) and his empress. Many people know about Emperor Meiji’s great contribution to Japan’s economic and social development, but little is known about his private life. Our knowledgeable guide will tell you his life stories while showing you around a special sight inside the shrine, the Camphor Tree Couple - two trees connected by a rope, symbolizing the sacred bond and eternal love of the emperor and his empress. The exemplary marriage of the emperor and his wife has also made it a wedding mecca for Japanese. If you happen to meet a local wedding, watch for a while to feel the different culture but the same piety.

Take a Cooking Class to Make Sushi
Learning to cook Japanese food together would be the most memorable activity of your visit. Sushi is the best dish to start with because it is not only nutritious but also easy to make. We will invite a local master chef to demonstrate how to make sushi step by step in front of you. Follow the master to get your own sushi ready and enjoy it for lunch.

In the afternoon, the guide will take you to Shibuya, which is synonymous with Japanese business and trendy culture. Take a look at the impressive Shibuya Crossing, the busiest intersection in the world, and join the crowds and feel the energy of the city. Visit the mall Hands Shibuya, and get surprised by a wide variety of high-function home living ware, from which you may find items you need in your home, such as furniture, craft products, appliances, toys, stationery, pet supplies, as well as DIY materials. Finally, follow the guide into the Nonbei Yokocho, aka ‘Drunkard’s Alley’, a narrow alley that gathers many shops, tiny restaurants, bars and izakayas. Having some snacks and sake here would undoubtedly make the most relaxing moment of the day. The guide will escort you back to your hotel, or you can make your own way back if you want to stay a little longer.

Day 10 Nagoya – Nakasendo Way Hiking (Magome - Tsumago)
Today you are about to complete an interesting challenge - to hike the Nakasendo Way, a mountain trail from the Edo Period (1603 – 1868 AD) that connected Tokyo and Kyoto. There were many post towns along the route, and the current section between Magome and Tsumago is one of the best preserved parts of the trail.

In the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to take the train and bus to Magome, a pristine village that is the starting point for today’s 3-hour hike. After visiting the village, pack your bags and set off. The post stations along the way retain wooden houses from hundreds of years ago, full of retro atmosphere, and between the post stations are amazing natural scenery.
