At present, Changsha metro Line 1 and Line 2 are in service.  The city is planned to have 12 metro lines, with a total length of about 456 kilometers (283 miles) and 333 stations. Among them, Line 4 shall serve the public at the end of 2018. Line 1 to Line 10 will run in the city area and the Line 11 and Line 12 are intercity lines. The first phase of Changsha metro line 3 are under construction and line 5 will open in 2020.
 

Ticket

Single Trip Ticket: CNY2 within around 6km (4mi); extra CNY1 every a 5km (3mi) for increment within 16km (10mi); extra CNY1 every 7km (4mi) for increment within 30km (18mi); extra CNY1 for a 9km (6mi) increment over 30km (18mi).

Note: Child below 1.3m (4 feet) can take the train for free.

Line 1: Kaifu District Government – Shangshuangtang (North - South)
Full Length: 24 kilometers (15 miles)

Stations: Kaifu District Government - Machang - Beichen Delta - Kaifu Temple - Wenchangge - Peiyuanqiao - Wuyi Square - Huang Xing Square - Nanmenkou - Houjiatang - Nanhu Road - Huangtuling - Tujiachong - Railway Campus (CSU) - Youyi Road - Provincial Government - Guihuaping - Datuo - Zhongxin Square - Shangshuangtang

Line 2: Guangda –  West Meixi Lake (East – West)

Lines to be Opened

Line 4: Guanziling – Dujiaping (Northwest - Southeast )

Length: 33.5 kilometers (21 miles)
Opening Time: December, 2018
Stops: Guanziling – Yueliangdao West – Xiangjiang New Town – Hanwangling Park – Fuyuan Bridge West – Chazishan – Guanshaling – Liugoulong – Wangyue Lake – Yingwanzhen – Hunan Normal University – Hunan University – Fubuhe – Bishahu – Huangtuling – Shazitang – Chigangling – Shumuling – Guitang – Shawan Park – Sutang – Pingyang – South Railway Station – Guangda – Dujiaping

Line 3: Pingtang – Zhanggongtang (Southwest – Northeast)

Full Length: 43 kilometers (27 miles)
The construction of phase 1 will commence in 2014 and be completed in 2018. It measures about 22.7 miles (36.5 km) and is planned to be equipped with 25 stations, which, from southwest to northeast, are Lianping Avenue, Yanghuwan, Yanghu Park, South Second Ring Road, Qingshui Road, Fubuhe Road, Shuyuan Road, Houjiatang, Dongtang, Guihua Road, Chengnan East Road, Chezhan Road, Railway Station, Yingpan East Road, Deya Road, Sanyi Avenue, Gongnong Road, Changsha University, Wanjiali North Road, Qimao Avenue, Xingsha Avenue, Dongsixian, Dongliuxian, Huangxing Avenue and Longjiao Road.

Line 5: Panlong Road – Times Avenue (North – South)

Length: 23 kilometers (14 miles)
Construction period: starting to construct in around 2015
Stops: Panlong Road, Xianglong Road, Kaiyuan West Road, Wanjiali North Road, Sanyi Avenue, Zhaoyang, Wanbao Avenue, Mawangdui, Wanjiali Square, Dongjun, Zhaohui Road, Huaya Golf, Laodong East Road, Qutang Road, Yuhua Square, Taiyujiayuan, Xiangfu Road, Times Avenue

Line 6: Huangxing Avenue South – Luyun Road (East – West)

Main Stops: Tongzipo Road, Xiangya Road, Renmin Road

What time does the metro start running in Changsha?
I need to get from CS railway station to South Railway Station as early as possible.

The first metro line 2 departs at 6:30am from the railway station.
