Changsha Transportation -- Getting Around
Currently, Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4 and Line 5 are in service in Changsha metro system. By 2020, the city will have a metro system of about 234 kilometers (146 miles), occupying 40% of the city's public transportation. According to plan, the city will have 12 metro lines, measuring about 456 kilometers (283 miles) long with 333 stations.
Public bus routes serve all parts of Changsha City and its suburbs and there is a choice of ordinary buses or those with air-conditioner. Fares are CNY1 or 2.
The Hong Kong based Lishan Bus line operates a service between the railway station in the east of the city and Central South University via the famous Mount Yuelu but we would recommend that your best choice is the air conditioned vehicles as they are far more comfortable in the hot weather.
