Day 1 Flying from Canberra
There is no direct flight from Canberra to Beijing, so you need to make a connection in Sydney or Melbourne. We will book the flight ticket based on your time schedule. On the travelling day, you will go to the airport and take the flight to Beijing on your own. The flight journey will take about 14 hours.
Day 2 Arrival in Beijing
Upon arrival, our guide will meet you outside the customs of the airport, and then the driver will transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to have a good rest and conserve strength for the following days' China tour from Canberra.

This morning, we will walk through the Tiananmen Square and approach the Forbidden City, aka the Palace Museum, where you can see imperial palaces surrounded by red walls. As the residence for ancient emperors, all the buildings show a feeling of solemnity and magnificence.

After the morning excursion, we will enjoy an a la carte welcome lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) with roasted Peking Duck at a famous local restaurant. Then, proceed to the Temple of Heaven, which is the largest imperial altar in China. At night, a fantastic Chinese Kung Fu Show at Red Theatre will be specially arranged for you.

Day 4 Beijing
Today's itinerary starts with the Mutianyu Great Wall. A round-trip cable car is arranged for going up and down. Standing on the wall and appreciating the splendid scenes of the sinuous Great Wall will certainly make you feel shocked. Moreover, we will prepare a toast of red wine on the wall, which highlights this China tour from Canberra. 

Lunch is not arranged today, because restaurants nearby are not up to our service standard. You are advised to have some fast food for lunch around. When returning to the downtown area, you have some free time to wander along a local market.

Day 5 Beijing - Xi'an
After checking out the hotel, we will drive you to the Summer Palace, built in 1750, which combines the traditional garden construction with exquisite natural beauty. Then we will stay for a while at the Bird's Nest, where you can take some photos.

Around noon, have an a la carte lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) at a local restaurant. Thereafter, take a rickshaw tour through old Hutongs to learn about traditional Beijing style residences. Moreover, we arrange you to experience Chinese Paper Cutting. Later, our guide will take you to the airport for a flight to Xi'an. When flight arrives, our Xi'an guide will pick you up at the arrival hall and send you to the hotel.

Day 6 Xi'an

While extending your China tour from Australia to Xi'an, the Terracotta Army should not be missed. In the morning, we will head to this marvelous museum to see tremendous scale of lifelike warriors. 

At noon, enjoy an authentic home-cooked a la carte lunch (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price) at a local family. It's a great chance for you to try cooking Chinese food from the host. In the afternoon, proceed to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi’an Museum. This 13-storey pagoda is an iconic Buddhist tower in Xi'an. This evening, we will have a feast of Dumpling Dinner as well as watch the classic Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Performance

Day 7 Xi'an - Zhangjiajie

Today, we will first observe locals' life in the City Wall Park, where many locals doing morning exercises. There, we will also arrange you to practice Tai Chi with a master. Later, climb up the famous Xi'an City Wall, which served as a guardian of the city in the past. Bike riding is available on the wall, but the bike rental fee is at your own expense. 

Thereafter, have an a la carte lunch (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price) at a famous restaurant. Later, visit the Provincial History Museum to explore further about this ancient capital of 13 dynasties. Next are the Great Mosque and its surrounding market. After sightseeing, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel by our local guide.

The first stop of your China tour from Canberra in Zhangjie starts with an amazing and exciting exploration in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. We will visit Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, Golden Whip Stream and Ten-mile Gallery today. We will take the famous Bailong Sightseeing Elevator in Yuanjiajie to ascend the mountain top at a rapid speed. Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve is famous as "the Monarch of the Peak Forest", and you can have a panoramic view when standing at the peak. Golden Whip Stream is mainly characterized by overlapping peaks, crystal water and luxuriant forests. Ten-mile gallery is a gorge decorated by many peaks in diversified images. All these splendid sceneries carved by nature in Zhangjiajie will offer you an enjoyable experience.

Day 9 Zhangjiajie
Today, continue exploration in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, where we will walk on the world's highest and longest glass bridge. Then, we will take a small boat to cruise over Baofeng Lake, the only water themed scenic spot in Zhangjiajie.

Day 10 Zhangjiajie - Shanghai
In the morning, we will ascend Tian Men Mountain, which is the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie with the altitude of 1,518.6 meters (4,982.3 ft). Cable car is arranged for you to make climbing easy. We will spend half day there to appreciate the magnificent spectacle. After lunch, we will set off to the airport and catch the flight to Shanghai. When the flight arrives, our Shanghai guide will greet you at the arrival hall and transfer you to the reserved hotel.

In the afternoon, you will be guided to the Former French Concession, and then the Bund, a must-see tour destination in Shanghai. Moreover, we will arrange a cruise tour across the Huangpu River.

Day 12 Shanghai - Canberra
After having a big breakfast at hotel, you need to find your own way to the Pudong International Airport (PVG), which indicates the coming ending of your China tour from Canberra. As there are no direct flights from Shanghai to Canberra, you can transfer in Sydney or Melbourne. We suggest you hire a taxi to PVG, and it costs about CNY 200 and takes around 1.5 hours. After almost 15-hour flight journey you will get back home. Wish you a nice flight trip!
