Day 2 Departure from Shenzhen
A private one-day city tour will be arranged for you to enjoy the Splendid China - Folk Culture Villages. Covering an area of about 74 acres on the bank of Shenzhen Bay, the Splendid China is the most comprehensive and the largest miniature park of China. The whole park looks like a large China map, on which there are 82 miniatures of the famous Chinese attractions positioned in a ratio of 1:15. All of these attractions could be divided into three categories including ancient buildings, mountains and rivers as well as folk customs and residences. You will find the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Forbidden City, Huangshan Mountain, Huangguoshu Waterfall, Li River and classical gardens in Suzhou. What's more, over 50,000 miniature human beings are set in these attractions which pretend to practise the emperor's wedding and the royal sacrificial ceremonies in ancient China.

To the west of the Splendid China, there is the Folk-Custom Village where you could experience the various kinds of cultures of the 56 ethnic groups in China. Here, 25 villages of 22 groups were replicated in a ratio of 1:1 and villagers all dress in colorful national costumes. The characteristic folk festivals will also be celebrated monthly such as the Water-splashing Festival of Dai group and the Torch Festival of Yi group. As the private one-day tour ends, our guide will transfer you to airport and help you board on the departure flight. Wish you a pleasant trip!

Slovak citizens are definitely eligible for Shenzhen VOA. Recommended border crossing to obtain a Shenzhen VOA is Lo Wu / Luohu. Bring you passport a passport size photo and keep in mind that you will pay for your visa (168 CNY) in Chinese currency.

Thank you for your answer. I imagine also using Futian Checkpoint (arriving from HK Lok Ma Chau MTR) and Shekou port checkpoint should be fine to obtain the Shenzhen VOA, am I right?

VOA Shenzhen onto Foshan City
Hi Zupan

Thanks for all the info here - really great stuff. I’m flying into HK and looking to then take a bus to Luohu to then apply for a VOA. I would then go to Shenzhen from there - my main question is: would I be able to then continue onto Foshan City? This is where a factory I’m visiting is located. Is it absolutely not permissible to leave Shenzhen on a VOA or is there leniency when it comes to cities like Foshan that are within 2 hours of Shenzhen? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Will, in reality, nobody will check you in the street and it's true that it would be very easy to reach Foshan and stay there using Shenzhen VOA, but in theory. Main problem here is logistics. You will have to travel somehow from Shenzhen to Foshan and in the moment of your ticket booking, you will be required to present your passport, even for intercity bus tickets. At that very moment the person at the counter will realize that you have Shenzhen VOA and consequently will deny you a ticket sale. Also, it would be very inconvenient to arrive in some accommodation in Foshan because even there they will demand you to present your passport and again, here is the problem because of your Shenzhen VOA. These logistical details are those who make your trip to Foshan with Shenzhen visa, practically impossible.

Unfortunately, Philippine citizens are not eligible for Shenzhen VOA at the time being even in case that they have been granted a Chinese visa before. So, I would recommend you to obtain a Chinese tourist (L) visa or postpone your travel.

I read the main post about VOA on this site which states that tourists from the Philippines and Indonesia can avail the VOA as long as they were PREVIOUSLY granted with a Chinese visa. Please clarify.

As a Malaysian citizen, you are eligible only if you have been granted a Chinese visa previously. In that case, bring the passport with the mentioned visa with you. Here I have to add a detail... According to some reports, Malaysian citizens can now get Shenzhen VOA even without the above mentioned condition, but really I cannot confirm that.
