Yuyuan Garden, ShanghaiRoute 11 Day Extension Travel of Shanghai Gym - Temple of Town God - People Square
We recommend rising early in the morning and going to the Shanghai Gym (Xuhui district) where you will see many senior citizens taking their morning exercise (including dance with music, Taiji and body mechanics). You can even join them if you wish and a fun day just starts from here! Then take a taxi to theTemple of the Town God (Chenghuangmiao), where there are many stalls selling snacks and souvenirs around the sites. Perhaps you could dine at a Chinese restaurant after visiting the beautiful Yuyuan Garden.
After lunch, take the No. 930 bus to the People's Square which is a large public square just near Nanjing Road. This is a lovely place to take photographs and admire the view, which includes trees and flowers as well as people flying kites and feeding the birds in warmer weather. You could also visit Shanghai Museum in the south of the square and Shanghai City Hall to the north. The Shanghai Grand Theater and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall assembling in this area are also worth a look.
In the evening, take a leisurely stroll along Nanjing pedestrian street and you will hopefully reach the Bund in time to witness a spectacular sunset over Lujiazui new district. If you take the tourist tube across the Huangpu River, you might like to have dinner at Aiwanting to taste the Hunan style of cooking, but be warned that many tourists find this quite spicy!
Qibao Old Town, ShanghaiRoute 21 Day Urban City Travel of Qibao Old Town - Huanghuai Road
You should not miss the visit to the Qibao Old Town if you have an interest on the history of Shanghai and its development. Located in the center of Minhang District of Shanghai, only 18 kilometers (11.18 miles) from the downtown area, Qibao Ancient Town can satisfy your curiosity about ancient water townships without the bother of either long distance or the crowds. It can be reached by Metro Line No.1 to cohejie, and then connected by the bus Route 92. It's the miniature of Shanghai traditional folk culture and custom. The narrow old street in the center is the symbol of old Shanghai. You can visit the Qibao Temple, Qibao Crickets and taste the Qibao snacks during the visit.
Then take a taxi to the Huanghuai Road and have a leisure walk towards the Xiangxi Road Market.
Shanghai Nanxiang Steamed Stuffed BunRoute 31 Day Brief Tour in Jing'an Temple - Jian'an Park
Shanghai's modern transportation methods make it easy and convenient for you to reach your destination. We recommend a visit to Jing'an Temple, the oldest shrine in Shanghai. Located at Nanjing Road West, it is easily reached by Metro Line 2, bus nos.15, 20, 21, 37, 48, 113, 506 or 921. Jian'an Park is located directly across from the Temple. The area is surrounded by historical buildings and luxurious shopping malls.
Route 41 Day Recommended Trip of Shanghai Local Snacks
China is a country full of various snack foods, and the tastes vary from the north to the south. If you come to Shanghai for the first time, you should try some local snacks such as the Nanxiang Steamed Stuffed Bun, the Crab-Yellow Pastry and Guo Tie. Wujiang Road near the People's Square is one of the best places to find this cuisine. It is an ideal place to seek snacks in many old restaurants, and the cost usually is not expensive.
