November is one of the best times to visit Xishuangbanna due to the pleasant weather. The days are not hot but warm, but nights can be cool - a T-shirt paired with a light jacket makes it perfect. This month is the beginning phase of the dry season, so there is limited rainfall and higher air visibility. Just be aware of the fog in the early morning. This month belongs to the off-peak travel season, so you can have a peaceful and budget-friendly travel experience. 

Xishuangbanna’s weather in November is generally warm and comfortable, instead of hot, with daytime highs usually ranging from 14 to 23 degrees Celsius (57-73 degrees Fahrenheit) and the highest temperature reaching only 27 degrees Celsius (81 degrees Fahrenheit). It’s true that you feel a bit hot in places without any shade around noon.  

But be aware of the significant temperature difference between day and night, as much as 10-12°C (18-22°F). It feels slightly cool at night and in the early morning, with lows hovering between 12 and 18°C (54-72°F). It’s also worth knowing that the end of the month is typically cooler, marking the beginning of the cool season. Therefore, don’t forget to add an extra layer to stay warm.

  Upper Clothing: During sunny midday periods, it’s best to wear breathable and comfortable T-shirts. To handle the cool feelings in the early morning, especially in the rainforest, a light jacket is recommended; plus, it can help resist strong UV rays at other times. 

 Bottom Clothing: Visitors can choose shorts, skirts, dresses or long pants, based on their schedules. For girls who want to take impressive photos, skirts and dresses are the best choices. But if you want to explore the rainforest, wear a pair of lightweight hiking pants or quick-dry pants, which protect you from scratches and insect bites. 

 Footwear: It’s recommended to pack a pair of breathable sneakers. Sandals are also good for urban outings. For a rainforest hiking tour, it’s essential to prepare long rain boots, as you might encounter puddles on your hiking route. They are usually sold at the entrance to the rainforest, but it’s still safer to bring on your own. 

 Accessories: 
1. Although there aren’t many mosquitoes this time of year, it’s best to bring insect repellent when visiting places like botanical gardens or rainforests, as you’re likely to get bitten.
