Fuxing Gate to Fragrant Hill

This tour starts out from Fuxingmen. Rent a bicycle and ride westward for about 3 kilometers and you will find Beijing Military Museum on the north side of Fuxing Road. It is a comprehensive military museum, composed of different exhibitions. There is the Hall of Ancient and Modern War, Hall of the First and the Second Civil War of China, the Hall of the War of Resistance against Japan, and the Hall of Weapons, demonstrating the development and achievements in Chinese military history, military works, science and technology, and weapons from ancient to modern China. The admission fee is CNY10 per person.


From the museum, ride north to the China Millennium Monument. It was built as a memorial and symbolic building to welcome of the 21st century. Now the Beijing World Art Museum is housed there. Directly to the north is located Yuyuantan Park, one of the largest parks in Beijing. With a cherry blossom garden to the west, a lake view to the north, Zhongshan Island to the south and Liuchun Garden to the east, Yuyuantan Park becomes an ideal place for people to enjoy a beautiful landscape and pleasant atmosphere. The park also holds a Cherry Blossom Festival every spring.  Exit this park from its west gate and find the Central TV Tower and Pacific ANDOVER Underwater World Exhibition just opposite.
Fragrant Hills Park
Afterwards, you will have a long ride. From the Central TV Tower, you may find the Hangtian Bridge about 400 meters away in the north. Across the bridge, turn left and ride directly westward along Fucheng Road, then continue on Fushi Road for about 8.5 kilometers to Jinyuan Bridge (overpass). Turn right and go northward for about 2.5 kilometers, where you'll find come to the Beijing Shooting Range Hall on your left. It was one of the key competition venues for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. 


Take the left Xiangshan South Road at the fork near the shooting range hall. After riding north for about 5 km, you will reach a crossing. Turn right to Beijing Botanical Garden and get to the Fragrant Hills by making a left turn at the crossing. After appreciating the beautiful and strange plants in Beijing Botanical Garden, you can also visit the Wofo Temple near it, also called Reclining Buddha Temple. During your visit to Fragrant Hill, you can also take the cable car to get an aerial view of the gardens.

Please tell us how to get here coming from Xicheng District, we are accomodated at bamboo Garden.

Walking to Lingjing Hutong station from the Xicheng District, you can take the subway line 4, and get off at the Xizhimen Station. Transfer to the subway line 2 and get off at the Trum Tower Street station, then walk to the Bamboo Garden hotel.
