Fuxing Gate to Fragrant Hill Park Biking in Beijing

Route: Fuxingmen Subway Station – Beijing Capital Museum - Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution - China Millennium Monument - Yuyuantan Park - CCTV Tower & Pacific Underwater World - Beijing Shooting Range Hall - Western Hills National Forest Park - Fragrant Hills Park

Stop 1: Beijing Capital Museum
Outside Fuxingmen Subway Station on line 1 and line 2, you can easily find a sharing bike. Ride westward for about 1.2 kilometers (0.7 miles) and you will find Beijing Capital Museum on the south side of Fuxing Road. It houses nearly 6,000 pieces of exhibitions including jade wares, porcelains and bronze wares.

Stop 2: Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution
Keep riding westward, you will soon see Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution on your right, which mainly displays wars happened and weapons used from ancient to modern China. 

Opening hours: 09:00 - 17:00; closed on Mondays
Ticket price: Free
Stop 3: China Millennium Monument
Ride northward along the road west of the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution to reach the China Millennium Monument. It was built as a memorial and symbolic building to welcome the 21st century. 
Stop 4: Yuyuantan Park
Straightly to the north of China Millennium Monument is located Yuyuantan Park, one of the largest parks in Beijing. With a cherry blossom garden to the west, a lake view to the north, Zhongshan Island to the south and Liuchun Garden to the east, Yuyuantan Park becomes an ideal place for people to enjoy a beautiful landscape and pleasant atmosphere.

Stop 5: CCTV Tower & Pacific Underwater World
Exit Yuyuantan Park from its west gate, the CCTV Tower is just opposite. It is the third highest tower in China. Pacific Underwater World is right under the Tower, displaying various marine lives. 

Opening hours: 08:30 - 22:00 for the former; 08:30 - 17:30 in April to October and 9:00 - 17:00 in November to March for the latter
Ticket price: CNY 90 for the former and CNY 120 for the latter
Stop 6: Beijing Shooting Range Hall
Afterwards, please get ready for a long ride. From the CCTV Tower, you may find the Hangtian Bridge about 400 meters (440 yards) away in the north. Cross the bridge, turn left and ride directly westward along Fucheng Road, then continue on Fushi Road for about 8.5 kilometers (5.3 miles) to Jinyuan Bridge (overpass). Turn right and cycle northward for about 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) more, where you'll find come to the Beijing Shooting Range Hall on your left. It was one of the key competition venues for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. 

It is temporarily closed and you can only see it from the outside. 
Stop 7: Western Hills National Forest Park
Take the South Xiangshan Road on your left at the fork ahead of the Shooting Range Hall. After riding north for about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles), you will reach a crossing. Turn left to find the east gate of the Western Hills National Forest Park, which is covered by lush forests and dwelled by various animals. 

Opening hours: 07:00 – 18:00 from March to October; 08:00 – 17:00 from November to February 
Ticket price: CNY10
Stop 8: Fragrant Hills Park
Go back to South Xiangshan Road and continue forward for about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles), turn left and you will find Fragrant Hills Park (Xiangshan Park) a few minutes’ riding ahead. It is the best place to appreciate red leaves in Beijing from middle October to early November. During your visit to Fragrant Hill, you can also take the cable car to get an aerial view of the garden. 

Opening hours: 06:00 – 19:30 from April to November 15th; 06:00 – 19:00 from November 16th to March 
Ticket price: CNY10 from April to November 15th; CNY5 from November 16th to March

After the visit and if time permits, you may also pay a visit to Beijing Botanical Garden to the east of the Fragrant Hills Park. 

Opening hours: 06:00 – 21:00 from April to November 15th; 06:30 – 19:00 from November 16th to March

How to Leave
Outside both the Fragrant Hills Park and Botanical Garden, there is a subway station of the Western Suburban Line. You may take the subway train to return to downtown.

Please tell us how to get here coming from Xicheng District, we are accomodated at bamboo Garden.

Walking to Lingjing Hutong station from the Xicheng District, you can take the subway line 4, and get off at the Xizhimen Station. Transfer to the subway line 2 and get off at the Trum Tower Street station, then walk to the Bamboo Garden hotel.
