Having stirring flag raising and lowering ceremonies held here every day, the Tiananmen Square has always been a pride for all Chinese. And then you will walk for about 5 minutes to enter the Forbidden City, it used to be royal palace of Ming and Qing Dynasties, and now it is one of the most important and must-see sites for all visitors. The incomparable ancient buildings complex witnessed the splendor and decay of two dynasties and leave Chinese great repercussions far beyond imagination. Your guide will give you detailed explanation and guidance during this vacation. Day 4 Beijing - Xi’an
Today we will take you to the Beijing Zoo and the Summer Palace in the morning. Then visit the Lama Temple and have a Hutong tour. The Hutong experience will show you the courtyard houses and the living style of the local residence. Since you will take an overnight soft sleeper Beijing to Xian train tour tonight. You may ask your guide to take you to a super market or a cake store to buy some food for dinner and the breakfast for the next day. The train has food sold to passengers but with low quality and taste. If you failed to prepare food in advance, then you can buy something from the conductors when they pass your carriage with their small dining car. (Tips: The trains in China are different from those in western countries. The soft sleeper carriages are divided by two lower and two upper berths with doors, but with very limited space. You may ask your guide to take you to the railway station a little bit earlier and ask the red hat for help with your luggage and then you can get on the train earlier. Only in this way can you get on the train without any hurry and can place your luggage at a convenient place. As also, the compulsory information about the train baggage allowance will give you a great help when you board the train.)

Our travel consultant Kelly Wang was very accomodating and organized. She gave us a detailed description of our tour and entertained all our suggestions. She was quick to reply to & was very helpful during the entire planning of the trip.
Transfers from airport to hotel and vice versa were a breeze because our drivers were very efficient. The vehicles that we used were big and comfortable.Traffic was not so bad either.
Everything in our itinerary was followed. We had 2 tour guides for the trip, 1 in Xian & 1 in Beijing. Both tour guides were always on time. They were very good in the English language and they were very friendly. Our tour guide in Xian Celine was very nice and charming. She was very knowledgeable and informative. She accompanied us to climb to the top of the Mt. Hua while explaining to us some history and information regarding the place. She was very good in her job and made us feel comfortable we hoped we could've brought her to Beijing with us.
The other tour guide in Beijing was also nice. However he seemed to be lacking a little bit of enthusiasm when it comes to talking about the places we've visited. He would always walk in a rush and would always leave us behind. Although we didn't know if we were just slow because we were busy taking pictures. Whenever we go to a place, we'd just literally pass by without hearing any explanation or some story about the site unless we probe him or ask him some questions. So we just ended up taking pictures and sometimes if we're lucky,we would just pick up bits of information from other guides in other groups who happen to pass by. However he was still polite and accomodating as well. He even helped us out in reserving a table in some of the restaurants that we wanted to visit. Plus points to that. But I still think that our visit to the palaces would be more enjoyable if we knew some history behind the.

Days Inn hotel in Xian was definitely worth it and nice in contrast to Days Inn hotel in the Forbidden City which was quite disappointing. The rooms were smaller and I think older but the receptionist speaks a little English so plus points also to them. Breakfasts in both hotels were the same daily so we had the same breakfast everyday for almost a week. Good thing there was yogurt and peach juice, my most favorite in their menu.

Our overall stay in China was nevertheless fun and enjoyable for the whole family. All the places were nice and clean and exceeded our expectations. People were nice as well despite the language barrier. Although the food takes a little getting used to some of the food that we tried were delicious especially the Peking duck.
I think it was worth the money that we paid and we actually didn't regret getting a travel agency for this trip because the places were far from each other and it would be difficult and tiring to go around the city on our own.
