Daocheng Yading Airport

Daocheng Airport, 4,411 meters in altitude, is the highest civilian airport in the world, which provides services for Daocheng County and surrounding places.
 

North of Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, Southeast of China, it is about 35 kilometers (about 22 miles) from downtown Daocheng.
 

There is one terminal with three levels for domestic flights. The ground floor is the check-in hall and restaurants, the second floor is the waiting hall with drinking room, medical room and oxygen room and the third floor is the commercial hall.

 1: There is free oxygen supply equipment at the airport, but they cannot be taken on board.

 2: Since the airport is built in such an altitude, you have to prepare anti-altitude medicine in advance and avoid intense activities in the airport.

 3: There is no air-condition at the airport, so you should take more clothes to keep warm.

 Airport shuttle bus can arrive at the scenic area directly which will take you about 3 hours and 30 minutes and cost you CNY 85.
 First, take the airport shuttle bus to airport hotel, and then go to the scenic area by long-distance bus.

  1: There are taxis at the airport gate; you can share a taxi with other visitors to pay less. The price is around CNY 400 or CNY 100 for one person and the travel time is about 3 hours.

 2: If there are a lot of people in your group, you can hire a car. Not only it is economical but also you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. You should make an appointment for this service. It will take you about 3 hours.
