Therefore, overall, precipitation is unlikely to significantly impact your August trip to Kashgar.

The only thing that you need to note is the low humidity of about 42% on average, which indicates that the climate of Kashgar is dry this month.

Packing List for Kashgar Trip in August 2026

Kashgar August Clothes

Clothes: In low-altitude areas like Kashgar City, you are recommended to wear summer clothing such as short-sleeved T-shirts paired with lightweight long pants or long skirts; or long dresses in hot daytime. It’s best to wear a shirt or a lightweight sun-protective jacket over your top to block strong UV rays. The temperature drops a lot in the evening, requiring thicker clothes. Consider wearing sweatpants or jeans with a short-sleeved T-shirt and a sports jacket or denim jacket.

In high-altitude areas, T-shirts with windbreakers will suffice during daylight hours when the sun is shining. However, when evening comes, you need to put on a three-in-one jacket or even a lightweight down jacket. For the lower body, thicker sweatpants are more recommended. Besides, you can prepare long johns just in case.

Shoes: You only need to bring breathable, lightweight, and comfortable shoes, including sneakers and walking shoes.

 Others:
1. SPF 50+ sunscreen, sunglasses, and sun hats.
2. Moisturizing face cream, face mask, lip balm, and body lotion.
