In early March, plum blossoms are stunning in Hiroshima. To mid-March, sakura, the cherry blossoms, can be admired around Hiroshima Castle, Hijiyama Park, and Shukkeien ‎Garden. Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, the world cultural heritage on sea, is the must-see in Hiroshima. Also, Mt. Misen is a great destination to see old temples, appreciate dense forest, and overlook Seto Inland Sea as well as Itsukushima-jinja Shrine. Miyajima Ropeway can take tourists up to Mt. Misen where one can observe the heritage on high. Museum of Contemporary Art is an interesting place to learn local culture if you are an art lover.

1. To enjoy spring blossoms, it’s best to wear a mask if you are sensitive to pollens.

2. On Miyajima Island, Mt. Misen is near Itsukushima-jinja Shrine. The ropeway could take you to the hillside, and then you need to climb to the observation deck on foot. You may come across monkeys while climbing the mountain.
