Miyajima Island is also a must-see in Hiroshima, with world heritages Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, old Five-Storey Pagoda, Machiya Street, etc. The first atomic bomb blasted in Hiroshima in 1945, which makes the city a remembrance place. Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park are the best sites to learn the history. Winter has the fattest oysters in the year, and oysters is definitely a must-try in Hiroshima. Momiji manjyu, or called maple leaf shaped castella, is a special dessert in Hiroshima, which can’t be missed if one have a sweet appetite.
