I was told that the tour guide and driver have none or very little compensation, their livelyhood depends on tipping. So what would be a fair tipping for them if we were a small group, say 2 to 4 persons, and a large group, say 12-15 persons when the service is good and adequate. What is the percentage between the guide and driver. Please don't tell me it is personal because I have no guide line to determine

We are doing a similar trip in March and have been advised that Malaria is not a problem although insect bites should be guarded against, long sleeves and a good insect repellant should suffice.

I am travelling to China at the end of February for one month. Due to baggage weight limits I am thinking of buying essential clothing in China. How much do things like casual shirts, underclothes etc. cost?

I will be grateful for any advice.

Mr.Buffman replied:

The cost of those things are different according to the shopping area. No fixed or universal cost.
