How to Travel between Fenghuang and Guilin

There is no available airports or railway stations in Fenghuang County. But it’s 27 kilometers (17 miles) away from Tongren Fenghuang Airport and 57 (35 miles) kilometers away from Huaihua Zhijiang Airport. And Fenghuang – Guilin distance is as long as 400 kilometers (349 miles). The fastest travel way between them is to take direct flight between Guilin Liangjiang International Airport and Tongren Fenghuang Airport, taking 1.5 – 2 hours and CNY 325 – 525. Long-distance buses also serve, and the duration of one trip is about 6 hours with taking CNY 160. Also, passengers can choose to take buses to the railway station and then take high speed trains.

How to Travel from Fenghuang to Guilin

1. Flight: 1 hour

Firstly, passengers need to take Fenghuang Ancient Town to Tongren Airport direct shuttle bus at Fenghuang Ancient Town Bus Station, and it will take about 40 minutes and CNY 25.
Then, passengers can take Tongren Fenghuang Airport to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport flight, which serves at 11:25 on every Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sun and takes 65 minutes and CNY 300 – 500.

At present, there is no running direct flights to Guilin Liangjiang Airport from Huaihua Zhijiang Airport.

2. Long-distance Bus: 6 hours, CNY 160

There is only one long-distance bus starting from Fenghuang Passenger Terminal to Guilin Passenger Terminal at 11:00 every day. The whole duration is around 6 hours and the price is CNY 160 one person.

3. Transfer at Huaihua West Bus Station: 6 hours, CNY 181

→ Fenghuang Passenger Terminal to Huaihua West Bus Station: 1 hour, CNY 40, 18:00
→ Huaihua West Bus Station to Guilin: 5 hours, CNY 141, 09:00, 13:00

4. Transfer at Changsha South Railway Station: 7.5 – 9.5 hours, CNY 369.5

Passengers need to take long-distance bus to Changsha South Railway Station from Fenghuang and then take Changsha – Guilin high speed train to get to the destination.

→ Fenghuang to Changsha South Railway Station: Long-distance bus: 5 hours, CNY 140

→ Take a taxi from the get-off location to the Changsha South Railway Station: less than 45 minutes, CNY 50;
→ Take Changsha to Guilin high speed train: 2.5 – 3.5 hours, CNY 179.5 for second class seat, over 15 shifts, 06:54 – 16:57, Changsha South Railway Station to Guilin North Railway Station.

How to Travel from Guilin to Fenghuang

1. Flight: 50 minutes

1 direct flight departs from Guilin Liangjiang Airport to Tongren Fenghuang Airport at 19:40 every Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sun, taking 50 minutes and CNY 300 – 500;
Then passengers need to take Tongren Fenghuang Airport – Fenghuang Long-distance Bus Station shuttle bus to get to Fenghuang Ancient Town, spending about 40 minutes and CNY 25.

2. Long-distance Bus: 6 hours, CNY 160

One Guilin to Fenghuang long-distance is running from Qintan Passenger Station in Guilin to Fenghuang in Hunan at 11:00, which will take about 6 hours and CNY 160.

3. Transfer at Huaihua: 6.5 hours, CNY 180

→ From Guilin Qintan Passenger Station to Huaihua: 5 hours, CNY 140, 13:00;
→ From Huaihua to Fenghuang: 1.5 hours, CNY 40

→ Take Guilin to Changsha high speed train from Guilin North Railway Station to Changsha South Railway Station: There are over 15 trains serving from 08:14 – 18:07. It takes 2.5 – 3.5 hours and CNY 179.5 for second class seat.
→ Walk for around 10 minutes to Lituo High-speed Bus Station, or take a taxi to get to other bus stations in the chart below.
→ Take a long-distance bus to Fenghuang: 5.5 – 6 hours, CNY 134 – 158

Is there really a direct bus from Fenghuang to Guilin?

I can't find updated information, does the direct bus really still exist? And if so, is there a website where you can see schedules, stations and prices? Thank you so much

Direct flight from Fenghuang to Guilin

Hello,

I searched online but I do not find a flight from Fenghuang to Guilin, is there still one? If not, is the best way to travel by bus? Where can I see online the bus schedule and buy the bus tickets?

As I know, there is no direct flight available now. I cannot find the bus schedule online, either. Anyway, you can take a high speed train from Fenghuang to Guilin and make a transfer at Changsha or Hengyang.

Best travel route Fenghuang to Guilin or vice versa

We are arriving from London in Beijing and going home from Shanghai.
Is it better to fly back to Shanghai from Guilin or Fenghuang? We can travel either from Chengdu -> Fenghuang -> Guilin -> Shanghai OR Chengdu -> Guilin -> Fenghuang -> Shanghai.
We are China first timers so any expert help would be most welcome! :-) Simon & Karyna

The latter is better because high speed train is available from Chengdu to Guilin and then Guilin to Fenghuang.

Fenghuang to Guilin

Hi!!
I was reading online Q&A and i realize that there isn´t actually a bus from Fenghuang to Guilin, is that correct?
And, do you know if there is actually a train from Fenghuanggucheng train station to Guilin?

Hi, the bus schedule and train schedule may both have adjusted. Now the direct train is not available, and you need to transfer in Changsha South. However, the total time only needs about 5-6 hours.

Bus Guilin - Fenghuang. 2023 Update.

I'm afraid no. But the direct high speed trains have started to run, taking over 6 hours and a second class seat costs no more than CNY270.

Hi,
Do you know the name of the train station in or close to Fenghuang ancient town?
It seems that I can't find any info about a direct train from Guilin to Fenghuang, not even on trip.com.

The train station is Fenghuang Ancient Town Train Station. As I know, there are two high speed trains available from Guilin North to Fenghuang Ancient Town daily and it takes about 6-6.5 hours.
