Harbin Weather in September

Breathable long-sleeved T-shirts plus ninth pants or thin jeans, or cotton or chiffon dresses are enough for daytime travel. The wind coat or a thin sweater should be prepared due to the cold weather at night.It is a good month to appreciate red leaves in Harbin. Xianglu Mountain Scenic Area and Jinlong Mountain National Forest Park are preferred places, where Red Leaves Festival is held annually in late September.

The Xianglu Mountain is dyed by dazzling red leaves in this month. The Eighteen Bends Stream and Red Leaves Valley are two excellent places to appreciate the spectacular landscape. Owing to temperature and altitude differences, leaves of the same tree species present different colors.

Jinlong Mountain National Forest Park is the largest red leaves viewing and shooting base in China. Red leaves in the park are mainly maple leaves which spread all over the mountains. The yellow, purple and green leaves are dotted on the flaming mountains, forming a picturesque scene.In Harbin, the climate in September is getting cold and frost may occur in late of the month, so you’d better take some thick clothes in case of temperature drop. The temperature in the mountains is lower than that in the urban area; therefore, you should take a thick coat, especially when you want to spend the night there. Due to decrease of precipitation, the air is dry, so you should drink plenty of water and pay attention to skin protection when in outdoors.
