Pearl River Cruise

At 2,214 kilometers (about 1,376 miles) long, the Pearl River is the third largest river in China and the largest one in Guangzhou. It is so called because it contains a stone island resembling a huge pearl, polished by the constantly-flowing water of the river. Spanning eight provinces, the river is composed of four river systems including the West River, North River, East River and Liuxi River. The four river systems converge in Guangzhou and flow into the South China Sea.

I will be in Guangzhou on a Monday and would like to take a short cruise starting in the morning.
Probably no more than 3 or 4 hours. are there plenty of these and do I have to book ahead? do I have to take a dining cruise? what would be a rough guide to price for such a cruise, preferably with an English speaking guide or headphones?

Hi, actually there is only the night cruise. In the day time, it has been called Water Bus and the fare is much cheaper. There is no dining cruise and no guide is available, just a kind of public transportation.

Hi..does anyone know whether there's a cruise at 11 pm which starts from Tianzi Wharf? Do I need to buy the ticket in advance? Because I plan to take it on the new year's eve (31 Dec). Thank you.

Oh, you are suggested to book the cruise tickets in advance. You can call 020-83753751 or 020-83799817 to book the tickets in advance. Sorry I cannot find the price of afternoon. About the night cruise, different types of cruise have different prices. Generally speaking, it costs CNY 150-200 per person.

9 hour daytime layover in Guangzhou.
April 4, I arrive at CAN at 12:30, pm and depart at 21:30, a 9 hour layover. I am considering either the Chen Family temple or a Pearl River daytime cruise. I am open to any comments or suggestions. Will I have time to take a cruise and return to the airport for my 9:30 pm flight?
Are there city or area tours that leave from the airport?

Oh, don't worry. You can enjoy the Pearl River Cruise and tour around Chen Family Temple.
Generally speaking, it usually takes around 1.5 hours for the cruise. And the suggested sightseeing time of Chen Family Temple is around 2 hours. Thus your time is enough.
