Day 1 Arrival in Beijing
Airport pick-up, airport-hotel transfer.
When your flight arrives in Beijing today, our local professional tour guide will pick you up from the airport and give you a warm greeting.  A brief introduction to the city will be given on your comfortable drive to the carefully selected luxury hotel. After check-in, you'll have the remainder of the day to rest and freshen up.

To resume energy from the long travel on flight, we recommend a top-class restaurant for your dinner tonight - that's Made in China. This restaurant is located on the first floor of the Grand Hyatt Hotel on the East Chang'an Avenue, with home-cooking as its main style which makes it even more popular. The average price here is about CNY350-400 per person. We hope this dinner will give you a lasting introduction to Chinese food and a good appetite for the following days. The dinner is at your own expense. Please arrange the transport back to the hotel by yourself afterwards.
Day 2 Beijing
Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City including Treasure Gallery and the Hall of Clocks, Temple of Heaven, Chinese Kung Fu Show. (B+L)
Mutianyu Great Wall
Today, you will begin your luxury China tour from the Tiananmen Square. After taking good pictures there, the guide will accompany you to walk through the Tiananmen Tower at the northern end to the Forbidden City, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911). You will also appreciate precious historical items at the Treasure Gallery and the Hall of Clocks inside.

Your luxurious lunch will be specially served at an imperial restaurant named Fangshan in the famous Beihai Park. With about 70 years' history, this restaurant offers the best imperial court dishes and pastries based on recipes from the imperial kitchens of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911AD). The restaurant itself is an ancient architecture complex and the waiters all wear Qing style clothes, giving you an impression that you are dining in our ancient imperial court. Being frequented by many VIP guests from around the world, the restaurant has a high reputation in the city. Please do enjoy your lunch and the great atmosphere.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven to learn about the ancient imperial sacrificial rituals as well as to see local people's leisure life in the surrounding park. If you are a big fan of Chinese Kung Fu, tonight's Kung Fu show will be perfect for you. We will reserve relatively good seats to let you appreciate the actors' free-flowing but vigorous moves up close.

Day 5 Xi'an
Terracotta Army Museum, A la carte lunch, City Wall, Muslim Quarter, Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. (B+L+D)
Terracotta Army
We are going to visit the Terracotta Army Museum today. A special arrangement is made for you to take photos at a great spot, which is closer to the warriors. Usually only VIP visitors are allowed to enter that area. Terracotta Army was buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang (259 BC - 210 BC), who has been considered a tyrant by most people. However, bamboo slips discovered in Hubei revealed that it may be not the case. It’s recorded that the people could serve in corvee for the debt if they could not afford taxes in grain; during the service, the servicemen could also get some slender salary for enough food to eat. Emperor Qin Shi Huang brought farm irrigation, water conservancy, forest protection, cattle and horse breeding, etc. into the government’s work legally, which shows us a far-sighted development at that time. In the Terracotta Army Museum, you can access more about the great emperor. After that, you will have an a la carte lunch at the five-star Huaqing Aegean International Hot Spring Resort.

The afternoon tour includes the City Wall and the Muslim Quarter - a bustling snack street with hundreds of years of history. When on the City Wall, you can take a bicycle or sightseeing car to travel around the wall and get a general view of the city. Tonight you will be escorted to the Tang Dynasty Palace to see a dazzling performance, Tang Dynasty Dinner and Dance Show which is treasured as a national art form that reflects the glory and richness of the Tang Dynasty and is truly spectacular.

Meals: American breakfast, A la carte lunch, Tang Dynasty dinner show

The vivid living scenes depicted by the paintings are very rare, and they are helpful for archaeological study. The next stop is the Small Wild Goose Pagoda - serving as the storage for Buddhist scriptures during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907).

Today's lunch will be arranged at the restaurant of Real Love on Zhuque Avenue, which serves authentic local delicacies. The exquisite and delicious dishes together with great environment and services make it a very nice place to receive our valued guests.

Around noon, an a la carte lunch will be arranged for you at Su Zhe Hui on Hong Kong Square. You will find it very different from other style of cooking that you have tried in the past days.

Yu Garden and the nearby commercial blocks are scheduled in the afternoon. After that you will be guided to the Bund Area and then cruise on the Huangpu River to enjoy old-style exotic buildings as well as the stunning skyline on the two banks.

You will feel like being taken back to the old days while wandering around and immersing yourself in the grace and refinement of the water town. At the end of the trip, you will be driven back to Shanghai.

Dinner suggestion is "Xian Qiang Fang at Yong'an", an old-fashioned Shanghai cuisine restaurant. Besides the palatable delicacies, people love its evocative decor which brings them back to the 1930s.
