Hi,
My husband and I have ARC for Taiwan. He is employed for two years in Taipei.
We would like to visit Beijing for a few days in late November, returning to Taipei.
Do we need tourist visas?
Thanks,
Ruth

Ms.Rachel replied:

What do you mean by 'ARC'?

Oct. 10,2009 18:55
Mrs.Ruth Giordano(Taiwan) replied:

ARC is our Alien Resident Certificate. We have a work visa & we have been approved for multiple entries.

Oct. 10,2009 21:00
Mrs.Amanda replied:

If you have Chinese ID card, you don't need any tourist visa to Beijing.
If you don't have it, you may have to apply for Taiwan Compatriot Travel Certificate.

Ms.Anam Fadila(Malaysia) said:

My boss who is a Malaysian will be posted to work in Shanghai, China.

1. He is required to do a medical check up at Tung Shin Hospital in Kuala Lumpur. But just about two months
ago, he has done a medical check up. Can the Shanghai International Travel HealthCare accept other
medical reports than Tung Shin?

2. My boss just came back from Shanghai. He has the multiple entry visa valid for 1 year.
Does he need to apply for a new one?

Aug. 15,2009 01:28
Mr.Alex(Hong Kong) replied:

Your boss should have a medical check up at the Tung Shin Hospital in Kuala Lumpur because he is required to do so.

He don't need to apply for a new one if the present visa has not expired. But if he needs to change the visa type, for example, he wants to change Business visa to work visa, he needs to apply for a new one.

You can just go to the Chinese embassy to apply the visa with the application documents. If you have freinds or relatives in China, you can ask them to provide you a invitation letter for your visa application, if not, you confirmed hotel booking is ok.
